Finally did a colored version of these lines I had previously drawn >> [link]

EDIT :Thank you all so much for the +100 , people ! c:

EDIT 2 : Take a look at 's colored version of this, she did a really nice job of it ! >> [link]

Sorry about the no background stuff, but it seems I still can't come up with nice background ideas, which pretty much annoys me.

It took me time to achieve all those tones, but I am quite satisfied with how it came out in the end. First time I can say so, I think.

I tried to pick up original tones, I didn't want the common blue Suicune and white Reshiram - it was pretty long, but I loved working on this !

Ah, I love the choice of colors here! It almost looks like a pumpkin carving, and I think that's really cool! The black background adds more intensity to the scene, in my opinion, so it focuses our eyes on the Pokemon more. This is fantastic work!

I feel flattered you're comparing this to a pumpkin carving - I had once fallen upon a Deviant whose speciality was pumpkin carving, and it was just amazing - and I must reluctantly admit that until then, I didn't think much of pumpkin carving, but now I know it can be really beautiful.
Thank you big time for the compliment and for taking the time to comment ! c:

Wow... Such a random and fitting choice of opponents~! I have to say i love both of those legendaries <3, and this battle scene looks epic. This is so wonderful.. I loke how darkly colored it is.. And the style you colored it in, gives it almost an epic feel, where its fitting of such a battle. Truly wonderful! I have to say i love this picture <3

Oh, thank you so much !
Yes, It's true, it was a random choice of opponents - I decided to pick two I hadn't drawn yet amongst legendaries, and it turns out I like the design for these two. Glad you find the choice fitting though and the scene epic - that's what I intended this to be, but I had a feeling that the lack of background had killed it - seems you don't think so, which makes me happy !

I already commented on this at the 'kaki but I'll comment again because this is awesome!

Really, the amount of detail you put into this is astonishing! And I don't just mean the lines, I mean the coloring too! The swirling flow of both Suicune's mane and Reshiram's hair, the texture (everything looks so soft), and both their eyes and mouths have a glow like molten metal.
And I've said this before but I have to reiterate how I'm amazed at how you achieved the bronze-looking appearance to the 'mons, and how it also looks like the images painted on Greek pottery.
And it also reminds me of this project I did in middle school art class, there was a name for it but I I've forgotten it. Anyways, we took a thin sheet of copper and used a wooden stencil to carve an image into the back of it so the image would "pop out" from the other side. Afterwards, we'd wash it in a sulfur solution to make it turn black and then scrapeoff the black coating covering the image to reveal the copper underneath. This looks exactly like that.

Great work!

Really great choice on the colors. They help make the scene feel even more dramatic. I can only imagine the hours of work put into this painting.

FieryWithin In reply to Zai-Youkai [2010-11-28 13:31:08 +0000 UTC]

Well, it is a matter of circumstances that I picked up these tones... I first intended for a grey scale picture, but my attempt at this proved to be a total failure, so I went for this instead... ^^'
And to tell you the truth I was most uncertain whether these tones would work together or not. Yet I had a feeling that I had to go for something more daring than I usually do. So it did take several hours of uncertainty, experimenting and application - but I really liked it !

Thanks so much !

I tried to do better than I usually do, but I am very ashamed of putting no background there (due to a picture crash and me forgetting to start with the background after multiplying layers) ^^'

maddi-x In reply to FieryWithin [2010-11-29 02:13:24 +0000 UTC]

I think it looks better now than if it would have a background, because the foreground is just so detailed and wonderful! Sorry to hear about the crash, but aside from that-- it's so good!

You did a great job on choosing these colors and then working with them
Even though neither of these Pokemon have much red on them ^^

FieryWithin In reply to firefox-67 [2010-11-28 13:40:07 +0000 UTC]

Merci Firefox !

At first I was surprised when I was told about them originally having no red on them, because I actually did not use any reddish tone - or so I thought. I basically went for ancient/golden tones.

But it is true that in the end there seem to be a few hints of red here and there - and yet that is most unintended !

firefox-67 In reply to FieryWithin [2010-11-28 13:47:57 +0000 UTC]

Oops. Well, I didn't necessarily mean red but just hues like that altogether. It still looks stunning though
