Yes, now i have Mac, but i used to have photoshop on windows and everything worked perfectly, until my pc died
And i also started with gimp, which is very similar to photoshop and indeed is a very good program.

I'm instantly jealous of you. I love Apple hardware but i don't own any. 
Gimp is good, but i hate how it's pixelated a lot which makes my beginning status a little bit harder.
