This is one of my older reproductions - don't remember when I actually drew it, but it must have been around 2003 I think...

Sorry for the quality of the scan - it has failed in all those brown parts, and so the drawing has lost much in its looks...
But - generally - I like it since Chichiri's face looks as it should^__^. This time the hardest wasn't the sketch but the coloring - especially those 'sunset colors' and creating the effect of hills behind clouds.

I entitled this picture 'Distant Memories', because it reminds me of the nice, fairly careless times of high school, when one didn't yet have the worries and responsibilities that has now... And my high school was the time when this manga was published in Poland, and it's also one of my favorites. I always hardly managed to wait for another volume and devoured it as soon as laid my hands on it

I'm a little bit sad that I haven't drew anything from 'Fushigi Yuugi' lately, I don't know why... I did draw sth from 'Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden', but it's not the same...
I suppose many people will agree with me when I say Yuu Watase's style is fairly hard and complicated - it's quite difficult to draw this etheral hair and veeery handsome boys (like Hotohori , Tasuki , Tamahome , Touya etc ). Look at the manga entitled 'Ayashi no Ceres' by this author - the drawings in this manga's artbook are even more detailed and complicated... BUT I LOVE THEM!!!
