I actually like yours more than the original, if you don't mind me saying so.
Fighter-Chan, just ignore some of the more ignorant folk around here.
Word to the ignorant: technically, drawing anything Sailor Moon or any other TV show/book character/whatever is your forbidden "copyright infringement." We draw for fun, not to bring on negative comments from people who wouldn't know the difference between a marker and a colored pencil.

By the way - jeżeli lubisz dobre kopie, zerknij na jej stronę
ENJOY!!!

I've been a big Sailor Moon fan since the 5th grade and I know for a fact you did not draw this.

Then you don't know much
If you had a bit of common sense and weren't as blind as you are, you would perceive certain slight (although unintentional) differences between my reproduction and the real pic. If you don't see any, it means you're not as BIG Sailor Moon fan as you thought yourself to be, but on the other hand the fact that you don't believe I drew this FLATTERS me since it means the pic is actually GOOD
Here's the original pic, Einstein --> [link]
If you still cannot see my pic is a reproduction done by me, I strongly advise you should visit the optician.

It doesn't take talent to copy somebody else's artwork AND get money for it. Why don't you make money for pieces that you actually create from your own originality?
This really just makes me roll my eyes that people like you get away with something this low.

I didn't get money from this, just drew this for pleasure. Besides quite a number of people have asked me to draw reproductions of diverse pics so I've done them.

I didn't say this one you got money for, but after trolling your page you mention in your journal you're selling your pictures. You're basically making money off something that isn't really your's. The majority of your gallery was ripped off offical art from artbooks. I don't see a single original piece, in fact, in your gallery.
But it's not like DeviantArt will do anything when it comes to obvious traced/eyeballed works.

no wonder you keep on criticizing someone that has such an awesome talent... you have no idea how to draw - just look at your gallery gosh, what is wrong in doing a copy if you do it yourself using an original as a reference only? it just shows how skilled people are - it's far more complicated to do a copy of a drawing than to draw something that comes to your mind... you're stupid or jealous that much?

Lol. The jealousy excuse? Oh. And perhaps you should check out the dates on which I uploaded all my pictures. As you can tell, I sooooo keep up with my page.
And no. Eyeballing doesn't take talent. I could eyeball pictures perfectly in MIDDLE SCHOOL AND color them exactly to the original. But I know it's not MY work, therefore unacceptable to be plastering on the internet and making money off of it. Get the artbook, because people should be admiring the work of the original artist. Not somebody who ripped off from them.

well... the artists don't mind being coppied it's in fact a gesture of admiration for them... and when it comes to money - it's so much better to put your soul into a copy of a drawing you love (and make people smile every time they look at it) than to steal. what's more, she's writing under every picture that the characters are not hers and she gives credit to all the awesome original authors
if there were no people with such talent, you would see Mona Lisa only in one place on Earth
don't be so serious... if you don't like her art, than don't look I suppose also your avatar belongs to someone else... or did you copy it from somebody?

ScarletSanctuary In reply to mothfly [2008-09-07 20:06:57 +0000 UTC]
Have you talked to the artists of the people she has copied from? I somehow doubt so, so I don't think it's wise to be speaking on their behalf. And the part about money doesn't make any sense, especially the stealing part. Because that's technically what she's doing. She's copying a picture that already exists and making a profit from it.
I never said my avatar belonged to me, 'nor did I "copy" it.

So calling somebody out for what is legally copyright infringement isn't serious? Yeah, okay. As for the jealousy comment. Cliche. Nobody is jealous, I can eyeball work too. Woohoo! But you keep on laughing, because if you didn't think this was serious you wouldn't continue to argue with me. :>

mothfly In reply to ScarletSanctuary [2008-09-13 11:53:02 +0000 UTC]
no... it's not serious... it's boring...
it's not your thing to go everywhere and argue about things that don't even make sense... there is a world-known cathegory of art called "fan art" and you can do nothing about it. IT IS LEGAL
I simply hope you'll stop fighting for a stupid cause and won't bother ~Fighter-chan or any other artist. if someone isn't good in drawing, you'd simply say that he has no talent... and if someone is a genius, you say he's breaking the law of copyright try to UNDERSTAND that it's rude to accuse someone of something like that.

ScarletSanctuary In reply to mothfly [2008-09-13 19:52:42 +0000 UTC]
Fanart isn't legal if it's basically copying the original artist's picture. And I'm pretty damn sure it's not okay to make a profit off of it. Please read up on copyright infringement before spouting your ignorance. If it's so boring, why are you continuing to argue with me? Trying to get the last word, eh?
Here's an example. Say for my master thesis I found one already written by another writer. I use it word for word, but I instead of copying and pasting I type it out myself. Does that make it mine?

mothfly In reply to ScarletSanctuary [2008-09-14 11:21:26 +0000 UTC]
well... wrong example... if you write under it that you just rewrote it and that every word belongs to another writer, than why should anyone have sth against it? huh? that's exactly what those people do - the draw a copy and write that the characters are not their own and sometimes even give a link to the original for everybody to go there and to decide if the both pictures look alike
ok, I guess it makes no sense to try to explain it once more to you since you don't seem to get it at all... so I'll let you have the last word - because it doesn't really matter who will end the discussion but who is right let the future readers decide.
bye, nice talking to you

You're the one who chose to argue with me and has failed to understand that stealing other people's works is wrong. Maybe one day when somebody decides to steal/trace/eyeball your art you'll think otherwise.

oh, dear... everything's cool but SHE'S STEALING NOTHING... this FAQ is about photomanipulations... not about drawings... about using someone's art and not copying
I kill for stealing. but if someone asks me for my permission to use my pictures as a reference, than I have nothing against (of course if it'll be a good quality drawing - I hate low quality art)
if your ambitions are so high, than go and write to Naoko-sama, that a girl with a wonderful talent is copying her pictures. you'll see she'll be happy about it - she loves her fans

ScarletSanctuary In reply to mothfly [2008-09-14 23:23:10 +0000 UTC]
Oh jeez. I thought you weren't going to deal with me anymore. And no, those aren't for just photomanipulations. It's for any art that's on this site. Sorry, but eyeballing isn't talent, like I've already mentioned previously. Talent comes from creating from your mind and sources. Too bad you're so blind and ignorant to care.
Just because one artist may not care if their art is ripped off doesn't excuse that no other artist will think the same. People have gone to small claims court because of it.
Copying someone's artwork is stealing. But we can keep arguing the same thing, because clearly neither of us are budging from our side.
