In 2011 we created the biggest fighting game art collaboration of that time with the 80 Mortal Kombat character Illustrations by 80 artists.

In 2012 we celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter with an art tribute of over 200 illustrations that was highlighted by Capcom itself and many websites.

In 2013 we started the FGE Project that resulted in so far over 220 illustrations of many quite unknown fighting game characters.

In 2014 we tributed the King of Fighters series that had its 20th Anniversary with over 40 artworks about the many Teams in KOF History. For the first time our work even apperared on Japanese websites. We also tributed the Anniversary of the Tekken series.

Now we have April 2015 and after asking you, the FGE community last week I thought that we go three routes in 2015.

1. We will create a big tribute for the SoulCalibur Series in the next 8 months. SoulEdge was released in January 2016, we can slowly create character illustrations, battle scenes, illustrations of the places in the games like Ostrheinburg Castle. Illustrations of the many weapons in the SoulCalibur games could also be a really cool tribute I believe.

2. Continue the FGE Project with more illustrations of unpopular and almost forgotten fighting game and beat'em up characters. You can either choose a character or ask for a challenge, in that case I will choose a character for you. The deadline is individual for this one, and is 2 months from the date when you claimed a character.

3. Continue the big Mortal Kombat Tribute now that Mortal Kombat X is out and added around 10 completely new characters and also new designs for all returning ones.

Beside these three art activities on FGE we are also running the Traditional Art Contest till June. It is possible to combine the art activities with the contest as well if you decide to join the SoulCalibur Tribute as example and will draw your submission with traditional tools. Minimal retouching via Photoshop etc. is okay but the main composition should be done with traditional tools like markers, ink, oil paint etc.Not allowed is fetish art and nudity, minimal redesigns are allowed, but stick to the original character designs and costumes if possible.
