Cory is loyal, intense, determined, resourceful and clever.
But she is also forceful, stubborn, hot-tempered, resentful and blunt.
A no-nonsense delinquent who is rarely seen without her signature death glare. Cory's loyal and clever, but has a real mean-streak. There's no such thing as having a different opinion than Cory's- you either agree with her, and are therefore right, or you disagree with her and are therefore wrong and stupid- and she'll tell you so until you agree with her, if only to shut her up. She's a bit of a delinquent, and doesn't take to being told what do very well if she doesn't respect who the order's coming from. Regardless, she's a good friend to have, but her anger management issues and short fuse causes her to instill fear in most potential relationships. Whoops. Luckily, Cory seems more bark than bite- she'll bash a zombie skull any day of the week, but hesitates at hurting other people, and seems to prefer throwing out threats than following up on them. Calling her out on her bluff usually works.

Backstory:
Cory was a gifted child. She hated that. She's always hated the pressure but on her as a child, and it was only a matter of time until she rebelled. She'd mess up in school, if only to spite her parents, and as time passed she found she liked spiting authority figures in general. A few fights too many and Cory's parents gave her an ultimatum: clean up her act or she's out of the house at 18. So Cory got a job so she could pay rent. Work sucked, but earning money was just enough of a reward for her to keep her act together for the shifts.
When the apocalypse hit, Cory didn't mind too much, all things considered. The teacher's weren't in charge, so she couldn't complain too much, even if it means being stuck with a student body she mostly despises. Whatever, at least it beats having to deal with work.
