Description This is the second painting of the "DATA" project.
As we can see there is a portrait of a boy in this early adolescence placed as a sculpture on a marble block. There are black fingerprints on his face, caused by the hands that are near him. In this piece the child is being exposed to the new environment where he is influenced by his surroundings. His bright face reflects his spirituality and pureness which is being covered with the dark fingerprints which poison the figure with new ideas. The child doesn't know how to cope with these ideas and the fact that he's placed without his torso suggest that he can't avoid this event which gives a sinister vibe to the composition. The aesthetics of the material world from now on are characterized with the black background (which gives the silent psychological depth to the painting) and the white figures with sculptural feel (which come in focus as we are pulling them from our subconscious mind).

And what is the meaning of the line that separates the top of the head? Because the fingerprints look as if someone has tried to pull 'the lid' open.... Has this a deeper meaning than that? Love all the pieces that you uploaded about this project, by the way

It's there to indicate that changes are being made to the figure, this cut together with the numbers inside the pupils make the figure seem robotic rather than a realistic representation of a human being or a sculpture. The body parts are detachable and here the detached figure is in some sort of admin mode where its modified while it is unaware about the process. This also represents the administrators as gods that experiment with their creations, but they are never seen throughout the project its just a sense of presence. As all the things are happening to these figures, we are left to question who is experimenting with the figures. Even though we see the hands doing something, they are no different than the figure, they are just being used as the "virus" which influences the child. So the element of the creator or creators is left for interpretation. It's there to pose questions so the viewers can try to make sense out of it

Thanks a lot for taking the time for such a detailed explanation  I must admit I haven't noticed the numbers until you pointed out. You've thought of everything! Your art is really inspiring

Wonderful, not the sad fact which you explain, the art itself is wonderful and it goes perfectly with the sad fact which you explain...
