Description
This is the forth painting of the "DATA" project.
A portrait of a woman in profile view is placed in front of a dark background. There is a cut on her scull and an extended part from which leaves emerge and form a flower. In this piece there is an experiment occurring in which someone causes an immediate aging process to initiate an emotional reaction from the woman. We can see the wrinkles on the forehead following the vein that transfers information onto the extension with the flower. This looks as if the moment is stopped in the middle of its occurrence, as we cannot see any wrinkles from her eyes down. The flower represents the vitality of the woman which at this moment is fading away. The flower is weighing down as the leaves separate and scatter all around the composition. In this piece the woman faces the transience of time and her own mortality.
