Description
I wanted to post a few extra piece of conceptual art that never made it here to DevArt before, related to my short film, Bill & Maggie's Intergalactic Taxi Service. This 45 degree rendering is of one of the intended designs for the shuttle craft (in this instance, a garbage truck) that Captain Bill Sprocket and the Queen's entourage would have commandeered to chase after the Chimera.
Give how other background elements panned out, and how little of the surrounding world you get to see, it's probably best that the craft they do take in the final film was much simpler and cartoonish in design. All of these rivets and pipes and extra details would have made things a tad messy and less pleasing to look at during their sequences. This is also far less cute. But the design did have various working concepts that were meant to make the craft appear usable on a future Earth. There are garbage intake vacuums on the bottom, along with sprayer hoses to clean streets. There is a main track compactor in back, but additional garbage receptacles on each side of the cabin. For intergalactic flight (although now I wonder why that would be even necessary) the sides of the craft have been fitted with old fashioned hyper-drives which utilize an impulse engine, hyper-engine hybrid, which makes the craft somewhat slower than the Chimera would be.
