Description
Hey, so I wanted to show you all what I’ve been working on for the past two days. If you’ve been following me for a while you may have noticed that I’ve changed my style of art a few times now. I’m always chasing the realistic style, and this here is a step in the right direction. I made a post a month or so ago where I was really excited about getting a “realistic” fur texture, but I found a lot of problems with it. For one it couldn’t do blue skies without adding in obnoxious lines everywhere (had to smudge them out manually in Procreate), a lot of character details were too dark, and the character designs sometimes dipped into the uncanny. However, my biggest gripe was that the fur texture was too rough, it didn’t look natural. So, I unintentionally backtracked into more hybrid/animation style for awhile. But, I took some time and experimented with my prompts, added in new LoRAs, and tweaked LoRA weights. If anyone vieweing this is looking to get realistic results with their AI art here’s a little tip to push you in the right direction:- Use multiple detail enhancer LoRAs/models and balance them like a scale. Some with positive values and others with negative values. Too much noise is bad and cluttered, too little won’t give you any details. Just take some time and experiment with them.
One more change I’ve made is stepping away from using an upscaler. I’ve found that the details became TOO sharp, almost appearing as if there’s an outline around individual hairs. I’m honestly happy about no longer using an upscaler, saves me a lot of storage space in my DA stash! I’m really happy looking at the results, but I know I can do better, so I’ll still do some experiments every now and then to improve the results.
Anyways, I have a few artworks from before I made these changes that I still have to post, so I’ll be releasing those before the rest of this batch of images. Take care! (This is sounding more like a status update)
