that's my frase!!
But people, if someone doesn't respect me i will only try to make a distance. Because if someone treats you the wrong way it doesn't mean you are going to do the same to him/her! That will only cause more trouble

I've found that sometimes it's better to respect someone even if they don't respect you - it sort of holds up a mirror in many cases. But I certainly can't fault you for feeling that way. Trolls get on my nerves, too.

Well said, and I feel this way about life as well. If people aren't going to show me basic level respect in any context, why should I show it to them?

I actually don't like this mentality.
I respect everyone as much as absolutely possible, even assholes. It can sometimes make them turn around and they'll realize they're being rude. Also, it makes me the better man no matter what the situation. It can avoid conflict, too. Ultimately, it's not really respect if the other person has to "earn" it. That's selfish, and conditional. True respect for other people comes from the heart, and doesn't ask for a price. I am rude to people when I snap and when I've been hurt. That always leaves me feeling guilty. Call me old-fashioned. I care about the comfort and well-being of others, no matter how rude they are to me.
Take the example of a patient in the ER. He's been shot, he's bleeding profusely, and is in need of surgery. He hates his life and wants to die, so he resists treatment. As a physician in the ER, the doctor's obligation is to save this man's life. On a less professional sense, this doctor took an oath, and hopefully, took it to heart. Compassion for his patients is essential, regardless of the patient's bad attitude. Maybe they're being really crazy because they're so scared and injured. The same thing can apply to human emotions.
