Description
A request from a good friend of mine. She wished for something China-related. And I drew it, since it was her birthday-wish.^-^IΒ΄m not very proud of the background... but my lazy brain couldnΒ΄t think of anything more interesting for it.:/

I understand Genbu, Suzaku, Seiryu, and Byakko but if it's reference to something "China-related" shouldn't Qilin be included?

Propably it would fit with China, but its not a part of the feng shui. Dragon, tiger, tortoise and phoenix build a quartet representing the points of the compass, the seasons and the elements metal, fire, water and wood. If I had to add another creature, it would still not be Quilin, but the snake representing the middle.

well there's two creatures referred to as the center. Quilin and Huang Long. Huang Long being the actual guardian of the center.
I still find it interesting how many references to Si Ling either use Quilin or Huang Long and there take on it. For example, Final Fantasy doesn't even mention Huang Long and often uses Quilin but spells it Kirin instead, probably due to English translation and pronunciation.

haha well if you're looking for any reference pictures it's best to search under Qilin not Quilin lol. I'm not entirelly sure which one is the proper spelling XD
