Description SoΒ  begged the question "what would the Legend of Zelda be like if Zelda was the villain?" and asked me to do a drawing. I, in turn, took it one step further and also switched Link and Ganondorf's roles. Actually, thanks to this, I had an idea for a complete alternate history of the Legend of Zelda, but decided the better way to go about doing that would be to instead create another original story that I'll be working on with (in the hopes of not getting slammed by the hammer of copyright infringement), so stay turned for that.

Welcome.

Also, a gerudo hero who isn't afraid to play a bit dirty, and male Mystic in a behind-the-scenes role, and a female villain that would add the kind of emotional dynamic that we saw with Cia in Hyrule Warriors(though with a little bit of heartless malous of Disney's Maleficent thrown in.)

In this case, I actually envision Ganondorf as a strong Gerudo hero willing to put his life on the line and push himself to his limits to protect his allies, but also as a noble king who wants to do right by his own family and country. In the first chapter of the book my husband are writing (based off this idea, but with original characters), Zelda's a character that gets involved in dark magic and engages in war with her neighbors because she fears her own kingdom will fall if she doesn't take drastic measures.

That sounds like a good idea too.

So far, the colors are still the same with each character. So does that mean the tri-force shards assigned to them are the same?

Right or wrong, let's think on that a minute...
Villain Zelda could embody wisdom, but in the dark way that enough knowledge should equal a role of power, and thus she seeks control of hyrule.
Prince Link here can still be courage, a strong lesson to remain hopeful and resolute even in the face of insurmountable danger.
And the new hero Gannondorf, still representing strength, can be a version of the hero's journey, starting small then gaining strength and experience overtime. (In a hero positive way. ^~^)

I honestly hadn't really thought about it like that before, but I really like that interpretation

So let’s see if I understand this.

Zelda: Evil sorceress who wants the whole Triforce to herself so she can reshape the world in her own twisted image

Link: Prince of Hyrule descended from the Goddess Hylia who gets kidnapped by Zelda because he has a piece of the Triforce

Ganondorf: Gerudo adventurer and skilled swordsman who has to rescue Link

That's a pretty cool concept, actually.
