yes,you can make those in the city too! will find a better foreground when it is warm enough to hang around outside

I'm not sure I understand how these are made--does the camera just take a bunch of photos and then combine them into one photo? I really dig the colors in this one, by the way.

yes camera takes a lot of photos and a special software adds them together.

make many many shots with your cam and use startrails.de software to put them together or do it with photoshop...you do long exposures like 30 sec and make shots over some hours

now time for a better expl. :
you use a tripod and a remote, search for a nice foreground. the stars rotate around the north star.
i read a tutorial, but used my own settings...iso 100 and f. 16(most people seem to use f.2.8 or something but i know my lens is not sharp like that) and 30 secs...

i plan to do more shots in summer...you have a garden, right? you could try that at night too...the only thing to worry about is rain or the cam gettin stolen

those are stars, many pictures composed together...about 116 single shots over one hour. the stars move every 30 secs you can see it on the picture but not with the eyes as it is so slow

you need a remote...mine was about 12 euro. the circle is the north star or something, i found it just with luck but i am sure there is a method how you can find it
