Description
I couldn't get Inari to fit on the scanner, and I'm not really very happy with how he turned out because the tooth on this charcoal paper was too hard. So he wouldn't blend nearly as well as the last few charcoals that I did. Which irritated me because I wanted to go for a high-contrast, creamy look. Oh well.

He's still pretty cute.

Inari, in case you don't know, is the God of Rice and Prosperity in Japan and was not featured in Okami, the video game, probably because they wanted to make Nine-Tails the bad guy, and Inari would have been too complicated to explain in lieu of this. Inari is known as a trickster god, so I have drawn him here looking devious.

He is also the god of all foxes and messengers, and as such, he is the most powerful of the "tailed" creatures, and the only one capable of owning a full ten tails. Therefore, you see him here with ten distinct tails and of course I've given him Okami markings. I didn't like it, so at first I didn't submit it to the contest. Now he's here: [link]
