Does this count as a tutorial? I'm not sure, but it's in that category anyway.

Many people have asked how I make those Sonic-Pokémon cards, and so here's how it's done. Pretty basic I know but I find just making sure all the writing looking right makes all the difference.

First of all, with these things, Photoshop is your best friend. Don't forget to save your card as a PNG!

A few of the fonts required are a little hard to come across. Futura should be available to anyone who has a HP device installed on their computer, as it's the typeface they use a lot. Alois, CarlosNoseven and TW Cen I believe come with Microsoft Office or something. Gill Sans needs a bit of searching for. I can't provide links. Sorry.

As for blanks and symbols, I've put down where I got mine from but I'm sure anyone who likes making these things knows where to get them. Again, I'm not going to provide any links so don't ask for any.

When it comes to pictures, be creative! A simple picture here wouldn't look quite right. So try to use as much of the space given as you can. For the evolution picture (if required), the official Ken Sugimori artwork of the pre-volution goes in the circle. (after being resized, of course.)

If you're still stuck on some things, check out on official Pokémon card and see what it looks like, how it's laid out, etc. This really does help a lot.

Be aware that all the typefaces are accurate for Diamond and Pearl cards only. Older cards use other typefaces, mainly Humanist - which is near on impossible to get your hands on without paying a heck of a lot of cash.

EDIT - Well, with the imminent release of the HeartGold & SoulSilver expansion we can wave goodbye to this style forever. I've renamed the pic accordingly and hopefully if I can get hold of the relevant blank I'll do a new one of these.
