Working on a MariChat fanfic where something like this happens; not AU, just non-canon. Basically, Chat transforms into a cat and is stuck in his new feline form. Marinette finds him a couple days later when it is raining, not realizing that the weak, soaked, and freezing feline is Chat until he blearily says her name while she is drying his fur with a towel. It's not until months later that Chat transforms back into a human form, immediately becoming Adrien, and the reason why he hasn't been able to change back is realized: Adrien believed his life was better living as a cat, being Marinette's 'pet', until they fell in love and she gave him a reason to truly want to become human again.

This is probably one of the oldest Anime Cliche's.
Character is cursed, transformed into something they are not.
True loves kiss breaks curse. They transform back. Like a Princess and the Frog deal.
She is, in no way, IMAGINING making out with her cat. He transformed back. And with the surprise of turning back so suddenly, they just happen to be kissing.
There is in no way any indication that she is IMAGINING her cat as a human, much less making out with her cat as a CAT, he literally was transformed from his cursed form. People who actually own a cat/pet will give them kisses. A form of affection. Just a peck on the nose.
There isn't much context needed for a one shot AU. It wasn't aimed for you to enjoy if it isn't your thing. If you need a bit more context, you can read Tokyo Mew Mew, it was inspired a bit by the later chapters in the series.
