I actually didn't do the line art but did have to re-ink it to color it. Thanks. The highlights make a big difference too.

Perspective drawing does have it's advantages, especially to emphasize height, which is why their pedes look so big. You're looking up at the robot but from a bit of a distance. It's not a straight on view.

But the isometric views are unique. I have only seen a couple of other artists draw their robots like that.

For the most part I draw in isometric view because I have a hard time thinking of a pose, or a better angle! I don't have a hard time with scale and proportion, for example, drawing arms stretched out to the sides from an isometric view (with robots, anyway... I have separate issues drawing humans) I just can never think of a better position. In the generic pose it seems like the point of origin is right at the center of the figure, so the robot has broad shoulders and large lower legs, and a relatively small central cross-section at the horizontal axis. Great for formidability, but in real life a robot like that would definitely have balancing problems. I've just been working with mechanical design too long and I think like a CAD program now... I tend to correct those errors in my head without realizing it.
