Fucking LOVED Fusion. Truly a worthy Metroid title. And Nightmare was an AWESOME boss. Dude was menacing, and then you finally fight him...Damn was it awesome.

Haha, Other M is a good game and they did bring up the fact that in the story-line Samus did have a traumatic experience as a young child due to the loss of her parents to the Space Pirates and Ridley whom was leading them. Still, even with this information in mind, which was not well known, they still made a woman whom is supposed to be a warrior. She was trained by the Chozo and given a power armour that requires concentration. They made her "flip out" and have a post-traumatic stress attack when she was faced with Ridley in Other M.
What puts everyone off, including myself, is that they made her weak and overly feminine in key moments which is not at all what we are used to seeing. We are accustomed to seeing an adventurous and brave person who gets the job done and isn't afraid to attack the enemy as well as defend herself. I criticize the makes of the game for the execution but they did try. Oh well.

Thanks! I definitely wanted to do something with Nightmare, my original vision for it was having ARC wrecked but at the time my skills weren't up to it so I changed scenes to where you first see the shadow (with artistic liberty

Man, I LOVED Fusion. Honestly, my favorite handheld Metroid. So what if Other M fucked us over? It has so many plot holes it can't be actual cannon. So, enjoy Fusion! Other M hasn't ruined it.

Yeah! Other M was pretty much the worst Metroid out there. Fusion, Zero Mission, and Super complement each other well. Prime trillogy is also pretty great. I'd also highly suggest looking into some Super Metroid hacks for some metroid enthusiasts

The shadow never scared me, but I remember having this MASSIVE sense of dread when Adam said there was an explosion in the ARC data room, then that fear was compounded when it said the creature was called The Nightmare.
From that point on, I was TENSE.

I've been playing this game for the first time recently, and it's awesome! Don't spoil anything but I've just gone back through this section with that shadow flying around. Still don't know what it is yet. Now I'm stuck on the damn spider thing!

Fusion is a great game, albiet too linear with adam pointing you to everywhere you're supposed to go and locking off all the areas you're not. ARC's shadow was one of the more memorable scenes from it to me, you'll find out soon enough what it is!

Yeah I'm not sure about the name of it but it's the thing that Samus kills to get the weird multi-spin jump ability. I think the room color was yellow.Β

Yeah nightmare was no joke! Trying to deal with his slowdown on gravity while dodging all the lasers was certainly a task.
