I got stuck on the first page of the comic so I decided to try out more of my eurypterid merfolk to not lose any art time. I'm really happy with this because it's a full computer drawing and I haven't had one work out before.I don't know if this particular one is special or not, I was just playing with colors for them. Unlike non-extinct sea critters I've got a blank pallet for almost all of the animals I like to do. Also setting a few standards down for the group. Such as the twelve body segments and a dull or normal metallic look at times. Since eurypterids have exoskeletons their skin would at the very leat be hard. Even if I can't completely portray that, all's still good.

Oh wow. I REALLY like this mer. I love those amber eyes and the little legs coming off the stomach area. The colors are spectacular as well. ^_^ Excellent work!

Then you'll be happy to know that all of the mers of this type that I'll be drawing have those sort of features. Just in different colors and shapes.

Very nice. Only thing is that I am sorta confused with how the arms are shoulders are manly but there are breasts. Hmmm...

Well the Eurypterid mers are a strong type. If you look at strong women you'll see the same sort of thing. That and broad shoulders are not unknown to females so to me it's not that unusual.

Good point. Although you still have it kind of wrong. you gave her man arms, I can tell the difference. Maybe it would have been a little smarter to actually reference off of a picture of a muscular woman.

It's not supposed to be perfect, in fact it was only supposed to be a quick referance study. Nothing as finished as I made it out to be.
