Description
Who, Cygnus? Oh, he’s just some obscure character. I’m not surprised you haven’t heard about him.This outfit will be canon later on, I wanted to design something classy yet casual for him. It just so happens to make him look like a total hipster. LOL it kinda fits his style almost too well. XD;;

Very interesting~ Can't wait to see when this would finally come up.
Out of curiosity, though, did you have any symbolism in mind in the exact orientation of the rosary around his neck? It certainly does in Buddhism, if it is indeed a Buddhist rosary.

***OH as for the rosary, it's modeled after the one I wear, only yellow instead of brown.

yeah I can't wait to draw it!
I took a few philosophy classes on Asian Thought and Buddhism, and read a lot about it, but specifics like that never came up in detail during my studies. I love the religion, if you have any recommendation of where I can find things like that out please let me know! I'm a sucker for those kinda details~! Also for my own personal growth on the matter.

Mm, much of it is personal knowledge that I didn't learn online, so...can't really refer you to any places, sorry. =/ In the Chinese Buddhist temple system, at least, the position the rosary points in is an indication of the position of the monk. Normal/no-rank monks and laypeople have to wear them with the tassel pointing straight down. The highest official (top monk/leader of the temple) wears it with the tassel 180 degrees away, hanging at the back of his neck pointing down his back. Officials in between wears the tassel pointed at different angles between these two extremes. This would put Cygnus somewhere as a low-ish rank official if he were a monk in a temple. For lower ranked monks to wear their tassel in a manner inconsistent with their rank is seen as a sign of disrespect and worse (having a big ego, which is...exactly not the point of Buddhism).
But of course most people would not know this as it's just a minor detail in the actual running of very large temples with a great number of monks. Most Buddhists temples in New York are run by one head monk who wears his rosary tassel behind his neck, and the rest of the followers are all laypeople who wears it in the other extreme orientation, with no other monks with tassels pointing in other directions in between.

cool, I never knew that! So interesting! If that's the case then yes, the position of the rosary would be correct.
...but if you think about it, considering that my comic is in a different world entirely anything could be different and all my research is for naught. HAHA let's not think about that though!
Thank you so much~!!
