The artwork in this is really good, but I think the UI definitely needs more work.
There's no reason for it to take up that much screen space and it feels inconsistent. Some gears are skeuomorphic (top right) and the other gears are brown and flat (top left). The bottom left gears match the top left gears a little, but have warped containers with character illustrations inside them which matches the container on the bottom right.
I really like the warped containers with illustrations popping out of them to be honest, I think they're pretty cool, so I would suggest getting rid of gears altogether and sticking to that theme for the UI instead.
Overall: Nice work, but the UI needs fixing. Keep it up

Hey Andrew, this was one of many work ups for the UI and by no means the final. It was literally done just to have something on screen. As for fixing it, that won't happen as the project was abandoned.
