then you need to use another image, there are plenty of free-to-use stock images here on deviantart

unless the creators actually mind firedancer using it without accurately crediting them, does it really matter?

yes because firedancer effectively stole from someone and from their own admission they do not have the original owners of the image and cannot ask if the owners 'mind' or not


it is equivocal to asking if a store clerk 'minds' if you steal a candybar if they did not know you stole it, regardless of whether or not they 'mind' the theft it is still a theft and /someone/ does indeed mind even if it is not that particular clerk

of course since the person they stole from likely stole it from somewhere else there is a lot of issue with it needing to be changed regardless

I know, but I meant, if the creators didn't have a way to be linked to or credited they'd probably tell you beforehand whether it is usable or not.

If not, then that is understandable.

likely they did say it somewhere, it is usually placed somewhere on the original site or at the beginning of the original show or in the credits section of the original book/magazine, since firedancer did not get it from the original source however i doubt that the copyright claim was left in tact
