Simpson County Fire Rescue (SCFR) is the primary fire protection agency for the areas outside of the cities of Simpsonville and Westmoreland. SCFR operates out of 17 fire stations. SCFR provides fire, emergency medical services, water rescue, trench rescue, collapse rescue, confined space rescue, hazardous materials cleanup and awareness and many other responsibilities. SCFR operates 14 engine companies, 3 ladder companies, 2 telesqurt companies, 4 tankers, 7 brush units, 1 hazardous materials company, and 3 rescue companies, operating on a 3 platoon system under the command of 4 division majors, to protect the lives and property of a population of 24,600 people. Much of Simpson County is rural and residential with the exception of the Simpson Ridge Business Park. This is SCFR Engine 830, it is stationed at SCFR Station 2 as a volunteer truck, it has an emt staffed a all times but during the winter and summer a paramedic is staffed for the increase in call volume.
