Description
UPDATE! This picture is now available on official Fairy Tale Novels t-shirts! Go here: [link]
This is my St. Valentine's Day picture; it's a symbolic illustration for Regina Doman's Fairy Tale novel trilogy, particularly Waking Rose, but the main set up is based on a scene from Shadow of the Bear, where Rose meets Fish. Now Fish is one of the COOLEST CHARACTERS EVER.

Ooooh! Very cool! The coloring, as always, is lovely, clear and bright! But i really like the theme, it seems rather interesting to me, in everyone is hidden a princess and prince. Very cool. God Bless!

Oh my goodness! when I clicked to respond to this I reread your description...my friend just lent me one of Regina Doman's books! It's called "Snow White and Rose Red" I believe, and there was someone named Fish I think.....is it the same book? That would be really funny if it was! Funny as in coincidence kind of thing.

"Snow White and Rose Red" was later re-released as "Shadow of the Bear", you see.

Cool! That is funny! I haven't read it yet because I'm reading Utopia right now, but I will eventually!

Okay, I definetly will! The only problem there might be is that I just finished Utopia and now I'm embarking on "Don Quixote" next, so it may be awhile. Maybe. It depends how fast I read Don Quixote.

ack, I can tell the scan didn't do justice to this picture >_< But it's still lovely nonetheless! I love the girl's pose and her dress flowing in the wind And of course, the patented FireFiriel lace border/BG
The border and the mysterious man in the BG add a nice touch as well. Awesome job!
Oh, I would comment on your next Okami picture, but I'm buying that for the Wii in March so I can't look at it XD;

Yeah, it really flattened the colour in her hair and dress, and his clothes. But I'm glad you like it anyway! Thank you!
Ah, that's okay! Maybe when you've played the game you will happen to look back at it, no?

How wonderfully lovely *_* I really envy your ability and depth perception. The picture doesn't look flat or static, it's really convincing.
I really like how Rose really stands out in the picture. Her hair is so vibrant, and her clothes contrasts nicely with the grayish surroundings.

Thank you so much!!! I tried for depth and distance, so glad you think it has em!
I thought maybe her hair stood out too much... anyway, so happy you like!

Oh I remember this scene. I really should reread that book!
I love the concept of this, and the rose border is really awesome. Her hair is gorgeous as well. Your art is so beautiful!

Oooh, a mysterious male and a beautiful girl and a nice background! Though, is half of that background supposed to be modern...? I'm looking at the left side and I'm thinking NYC @_@;
But anyway, amazing use of color here and detail. Rose reminds me of Margaret and Evony....the orange-red hair is probably the tip-off. But anyway, very nice!

Yay! Indeed! It is supposed to be modern, and actually it is actually supposed to be New York City!! I'm delighted it actually made you think of it! Thank you very much!
