So, I was thinking about Mu, and how the deathnotes were used to fid new shinigami. Clearly, shinigami don't look like humans, but if deathnotes were used to select them, then they must've been hum,ans at one point in time. SO, this is whatI think Ryuuk woulld look like as "A real boy!" His shinigami self is behind him, reflecting on what he once was.(sorry for the sucky photo lighting, no scanner that is functioning)

This is nice. I likes it. (Bad grammar for expressive effect. Yes.) By-the-by, Death Note is drawn by Obata Takeshi-sensei and written by Ohba Tsugumi-sensei.
If you want to prevent smears, use fixative (fancy clear spray) or hairspray. (Cheap and cost-effective) In my charcoaling class, that's what we do. Another tip: Don't use your finger to spread the graphite. (Don't know if you do or not, but just a forewarning. Use q-tips.) It yellows the paper and whatnot.

Really? Huh, I didn't know that about the smearing thing. Luckily for me, that sketchbook has pages the same color and thickness as manila folders, so it shouldn't be a prob for that drawing.
I always put fixative on my work, but my problem lies in smearing while i draw. Any advice for that?

Since you work in pencil, I assume, erasing smears isn't that bad, but troublesome, nonetheless. There is one thing that I did to prevent smears, but 'tis really drastic. Take some scotch tape and wrap it around your drawing hand. (I told you it was drastic...) Make it comfortable, and you might want to take it off every now and then (Not more than 10 minutes, really). Tough it sucks, it's pretty effective. (More effective than nothing, I suppose.

Huh. That sounds cool, I would never have thought of that, but it makes sense because the tape will just slide over the surface while your hand picks up the particles. ^_^ Thank you very much for the advice!

I so get how you feel! O_O The only techy thing I have is MS Paint which is hardly anything to brag about. Plus it burns my eyes after a while. We traditional artists have the trials and tribulation of faulty materials over a clean tablet or something. X.X Today I got oil pastel on the carpet...shh, my madre doesn't know yet...
