I finished another realistic piece, go me! This one took about seven or eight hours with the tablet using OpenCanvas, and some Project Dogwaffle & ImageReady post-editing. References used for the face, frog, bowl (photos) and the hand (poser).

Very cool, very cool. Snape's face does look realistic, the exact right amount of intelligence and contempt. The frog is interesting and I love the water surrounding it. The bowl/dish/plate/thing the frog is in is wonderfully coloured and I love the swirl pattern on it. A nice contrast of detail in the darkness surrounding it. Snape's hand - beautifully drawn, accurate and wonderful detail in the texture and tone of the skin, both hand and face. I love the smoky trail left behind by the spell, and the misty look of the room creates a cold sort of atmosphere. The moonlight coming through the window is awesome. One thing though, and I suppose this was intentional, but is the frog+bowl resting on anything? Because it looks all dark, and with the moonlight coming directly above it I'd have thought it would shine on some sort of table or surface. *looks harder* I can't see anything but black... One more tiny thing: Snape's hair going back on his head looks like it's not going back far enough. It gives the impression that his head is very short... or maybe that's just me. I really love the detail in the stone window in the background. All in all a wonderfully coloured piece, realistic and atmospheric. Very well done! (wow, I really do go on don't I?

You noticed the darkness around the bowl. That I'm afraid was intentional, a very intentional laziness. 
Not sure I see what you mean about the hair. *squints* But I will watch my proportions in the future.
