Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I had to simplify a bit, but this is still much more depth than I've ever attempted before.

The trick I find with feathers, especially in my current style, is simple is key! Put in too many feathers and suddenly the wing looks too big, too small, too feathery, more like scales, ETC. It can be maddening!! I go for the basic shape of the wing, then do a few REALLY pronounced feathers, like the primaries, fill the rest of the wing in with some vague lines, and then a layer of medium coverts. Then I add some more vague feather suggestions wherever I feel the picture needs it.
But that's just my own style/take on things, I really like what you've done here, and your previous winged beasties

Thank you for the tips!!! Yeah, for sure. I couldn't imagine actually drawing all this mess every time. It wouldn't mesh with my style and it'd be a nightmare to animate oh my gosh.
I just wanted to do an example of somewhat accurate anatomy so I could try and stylize them more accurately.
Holy heck I didn't realize how many coverts there were T-T
And I still ended up simplifying them some!!!!
This took me the entirety of a day to study, sketch, and finish. I didn't realize how many feathers wings have aghhhhhhh

LOLLLL YES, hyper realisim wings are GORGEOUS and TERRIFYING, how did they have so much patience and time??? What made them WANT to do that??? Gans is clearly the answer no one is talking about...
