I'll have a full-color version up later. EDIT: Color is now added! I wanted to go with a moth-like color scheme, which is why he's not really all that colorful. Also, I tried to make his optics look like they were glowing. I'm not sure how well it came out, though. Basic appearance (casual) is on the left, and cloaked (outdoor) appearance is on the right.

This is Styx Protoliber, one of Joules's grandsons and a cousin of Klaz and Slicebot. He's the 9-year old seventh son of Grim--who was a seventh son himself--and he's very shy and introverted. This is mostly due to the fact that he has an odd fascination with death and how it functions as a vital part of life. He firmly believes that dying at the right time is crucial to a person's overall existence, and that nobody should die one moment before or after their time is up. His morbid interest tends to scare others away, so he tends to spend much of his time on his own, trying to speak with ghosts and see into the past and future through visions which he will typically record in the form of couplets. If he is, however, able to make a friend, he is very kind and loyal to them and will go out of his way to help them. He and Slicebot used to hang out a lot when the two halves of their family visited, but Slicebot's adventurous behavior occasionally struck him as risky.
Styx's body design reflects that of a typical, flightless, Alpha Mortese boy: clawed hands and feet to enable scaling steep, rocky surfaces, sharp fangs, and a symbol etched onto his chest(I meant for its ends to look like sickles ><). However, instead having horns like his father and brothers, he has a pair of long, feathery antennae which enhances his hearing abilities to the second-best of any creature on Alpha Mortis. While this enables him to hear minute sounds over great distances, and supposedly the voices of the dead, these antennae are incredibly sensitive to the touch and cannot withstand extremely loud or high noises at close range. He usually wears a hood when going out to protect them. Without them, Styx stands at 4' 2", only an inch taller than Slicebot. Also, Styx's red optics are almost constantly glowing, which unnerves others because glowing optics are almost always a sign of a robot approaching or in a Threshold state. Finally, Styx is the only Mortese male who is completely unaffected by Slicebot's mind powers. Nobody knows the cause of either his glowing optics or his mental immunity.
Because he doesn't want to cause the death of another before their time, Styx gets worried when he has to fight. He'll even wear dragon leather gloves to avoid scratching others with his claws. However, if he is pushed past his breaking point, he will fight with horrific voracity, often using one of his many scythes and lighting the blade with elemental fire. He absolutely hates the living dead, and would gladly destroy them to please the Grim Reaper.
Styx and Slicebot are fairly close as far as cousins go, since neither of them mind the other's morbid fascinations. Often, they will trade reading material and the occasional stuffed animal (which sparked Styx's interest in Mothman). However, he secretly envies his cousin's flight abilities and wants his own pair of wings more than anything.
