Description Callista, my little firekitty drawn in a different style than my norm. Went with something a bit more finely lined. Her proportions are a bit wonky as well. Ah well....
Was just a test for some things that didn't turn out all that bed I think. Not sure... maybe?

You've been experimenting with dynamic elements. Nice work!
The biggest change I noticed without looking to the description, were the eyes. They convey a more girly, graceful look with the longer eyelashes. Those eyes are also used in Obitsu ball jointed dolls and many other BJDs... Q:thinking about making a BJD?
Her lips are far more delicate looking now with the round lines.

The Head hair is a little stiff as it descends onto the hips and tail, it doesn't contour the hips or tail. I can see that you'd want to keep the hair off the bum though in order to show the roundness complimenting the round shading of the outer thigh. The tail is in contrast in two ways: 1-it lays on the ground and does not stand so much off the surface; also contouring the left foot. 2-the tail hair is lower to the ground, where one would normally look for something solid as they go down the figure...solid like a foothold. Her boots are still solid instead of pointed high-heels.

Overall, my initial reaction was that I was looking at a bishonen(pretty boy manga) version of Callista. It was a bit of a shock, but after reflecting on the alternate future that this style presents for Callista(grace-drama vs action-drama), I think this would be a neat change.
And you need to make her into a Ball-Jointed-Doll if you haven't already! Great work, Firekitty!

I love your comments ♥
Always refreshing to read, you give a well worded list of pros and cons.

And thank you! I'm hoping to somehow manage this style a bit more in the future maybe, but the finer inked lines are sometimes tough for me to put some trust into. I've always been a fan of lineweights. That BJD idea is in interesting one though! I may have to ask some of my doll owning friends about that one!

Didn't turn out too bad at all, indeed. love the mix of sharp and soft shading, I really need to get back into coloring.

Coloring can be so fun at times. Others so frustrating! I do tend to enjoy it though. Linework can drive me up the wall sometimes, so just filling in those lines can be zen afterwards x3

I'm the total opposite, Line work the sweet walk in imagination for me, its when I have to color and give the image more depth and realistic structure through coloring is where it becomes a headache for me.
