I played as Xenomorph Number 6 I grew attached to her. No new alien can replace Xenos! Seriously wtf were they thinking when they made Deacon. Xenos scare the shit out of you when you see them crawl rapidly on the floor towards you, if you see the Deacon you would be trying not to laugh at it XD

I wasn't really bothered by the design, what bothers me is the relevance of the creature? Cause no, I don't think it's a Proto-Xeno. I mean, what is the point of this creature? Cause I doubt it will be in the next Prometheus movie because how would it get off the planet, and Ridley Scott doesn't wanna do Alien again. I feel like this was just a shoehorn to tell the fans that even though it won't involve Xenos, this is still tied to the Alien universe. I feel, that's the only purpose this creature serves.

That is a valid argument, however I think that planet is the same one you see in the first two ALIEN Movies. Maybe they will show where Elizabeth Shaw and David end up, and then give insight on the growth of the newborn Deacon in the sequel to Prometheus. The Deacon is the equivalent to the Hybrid you see in the ALIEN:RESURRECTION Movie; except it is mixed with Engineer DNA instead of Human. I love the Deacon, even slightly more than the Xenomorphs for the fact that it is a Prototype, instead of having the iconic tongue with a mouth, it has a secondary Jaw structure that retracts like a Cat's claws. It seems more realistic and I love the Porpoise Profile/Snout that it has!! Β

It's not the same planet. The planet in Alien and Aliens was LV-426, not LV-223, 2nd of all the Space Jockey died in chair, not in the Prometheus lifeboat which brings up more evidence that the lifeboat isn't anywhere near wreckage in Alien. That's what pissed off people about Prometheus, the fact that the previews made us think that it would lead into Alien but didn't.
Also, the Deacon is not a prototype because they're leading us to assume the Derelict's crash predates Prometheus which means the Alien eggs were there prior to the Deacon's creation. Ridley Scott said that the Derelict (Alien) and the Juggernaut (the ship in Prometheus) were not the same ship, but were the same age, by about 2000 years give or take. Also to the fact that there is an Alien mural on the wall of the jar room prior to the Deacon's creation.
Lastly, Scott isn't interested in doing a prequel that leads into Alien because he made it clear that he doesn't wanna do Alien again, from the fact that Prometheus started out as a straight up Alien movie and prequel, but he decided to direct and took everything Alien out of it and made it a spin-off that predates Alien.

Thanks for the Clarification but why didn't he make this more evident in "Prometheus"? I realize there will be a sequel but why would he choose to have another incident coincidentlyΒ similar to what Ripley and her crew stumble upon in "Alien"? I'll bet the Fans are confused and I'm one of them Lol

Glad I'm not the only one who thought the Decon design looked stupid. I appreciate they had to kind of retire the original xenomorph as it's lost a lot of it's menace due to numerous lousy sequels, spin offs and imitators. However they could have done some thing better than this. Even with it's weird mouth thing the Decon doesn't look scary. Β Β
