Unbelievable. Just beautiful... I found this on someone's favorites space, and I can see they've got good taste. Wow. Wow. Wow.

It's a very beautiful design! I like the colours and forms. And those "ribbons" add special atmosphere, a kind of romantic

Perfectly gorgeous, Mary! I hope one day you'll teach me how to use the rose/range lite algorithm... you're a pro at these things! 's to you, sweety!! Wonderful eye candy here!

FireLilyFractals In reply to locomouse [2006-06-13 17:49:03 +0000 UTC]

Thank you Helen! The best way to learn about using rose range lite is to take Janet's UF class. There is a help file that Kerry wrote to go with his algorithms, but Janet explains it in so much more detail.

what color forumula did ya use on the spheres to make that great marble like texture?

FireLilyFractals In reply to TSHansen [2006-06-11 22:16:30 +0000 UTC]

I used a texture layer made with S.F.B.M. II in the sam.ucl folder.

So beautifulll! <333 buuut can I ask you something? why are these clled "julia"? something I've wonder for a long time nowxD

FireLilyFractals In reply to angelasamshi [2006-06-11 14:14:46 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Julia sets (which are usually spirals) were named after Gaston Julia who made the mathematical discovery. Essentially, for every Mandelbrot location, there is an exact Julia location associated with it. Here is a link that explains it in a mathematical way: [link]

I use UF but I look at this and think: how did she DO that? I saw the smaller image and this larger one gives me more details to marvel at...wow. You show me how much I have yet to learn.

FireLilyFractals In reply to LaPurr [2006-06-11 14:24:33 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much Kat! It's all a matter of exploring and experimentation. I will see a fractal detail that I like in someone's fractal image, and work and experiment until I can duplicate that effect. The more you do this, the easier it gets. Janet's class is a real eyeopener as well.

Thanks so much for the !
Take care,
Mary

You're welcome. I try to do that with details as well, but I need to actually read a tutorial and figure out some more things. I also need to take Janet's classes.

Thanks.

Here is one really good tutorial by the great Rick Spix: [link]

Just unzip and read through it. I printed it out to make it easier for me to read.
