both are good characters, but both also suffered hater and even jokes from people who had a certain bias towards "non-disney" princesses who didn't fight to be defended, as Elise was formerly called Peach 2.0 for the simple fact that people who didn't like Peach because she was a damsel in distress and Mario saves her all the time, Elise suffered more hater because she kissed Sonic and caused "zoophilia" and I see a lot of people prefer Blaze and Sally than her, because the two defend themselves, but Elise and Peach are opposite, because Elise sealed a monster in her and has spiritual

The only real plus to Elise is she's voiced by Lacey Chabert. Otherwise, I really don't like how she makes Peach look strong in comparison when it comes to being captured and the nail in the coffin for me is how she'd rather let the world suffer just to be with Sonic before he ultimately convinced her.

Elise could have been a good character if Sonic 06 actually did anything beyond use her as a cheap damsel in distress. We are told that she didn't have any friends, was raised to never cry, and she's royalty. Those are things make for a very dysfunctional person who needs a friend.

I much prefer Peach in the RPGs while where she gets to display far more character. In the main games, she's mostly just, there, with the rare entertaining moment like when she brushes off Mario and Bowser's proposals.

Elise is not a bad character, but she's certainly Bella Swann bland. Plus, I don't mind her crush on Sonic as I like interspecies romances(Roger/Jessica, Betty Boop/Bimbo), but there was no development into it. IN order for it to work, they have to find some common ground  and bond. Chemistry

Princess Elise is a rather meaningless character.
As a Sonic character, she doesn't offer anything interesting or have anything distinguishable about her other than "damsel-in-distress." At least with Chris Thorndyke there is some kind of development and he actually tries to help.

She isn't even a decent damsel character, since she doesn't do anything to resist or fight back. And (while this might be preference) she doesn't even have a bondage moment, and even Chris had that The Volcanic Venture.

TBH Peach is probably my least favorite Mario princess, but I don't hate her. And from what I remember, she is at least better than Elise.

Peach may be a damsel character, but there were times when she was able to fight back and still capable of that. In that one comic Super Mario World Adventure, she saved herself the first time and fought back instead of waiting for Mario to show up, which shows she's improving.

I think the most fatal problem with Elise compared to Peach applies to one simple fact that can also apply to a LOT of stuff introduced in Sonic 06 that we never saw again: Elise does NOT seem like the kind of character you'd expect from a SONIC game. The fact Elise was trying to capture the feel of Peach in a series initially designed to COMPETE with the Mario series overall was never going to work that well even if Sonic 06 actually functioned the way it was supposed to on the control front. Peach, while I'm surprised people rag on her any bit sizably these days, has always been a character I still find likable to this day even if my PREFERRED Princess from Mario might be Daisy. The problem with Elise, as mentioned, is that she feels like the kind of character trying to embody something that TRULY doesn't belong in the Sonic series overall. Even with other royalty type characters from the games themselves, Blaze turned out far better by making her NOT like Peach because we saw what happened with Elise later on. The technical issues of Sonic 06 may be monumental enough to overshadow the story-based flaws, but even the story of Sonic 06's world...supposedly almost wasn't a Sonic game and might've been intended to be something else. Talk about the worst of both worlds for what could've been at least a more forgivable scenario if Sonic didn't get roped into this operation...

That's my biggest issue with when Sega of JAPAN, which is in particular tries to make ALL other mediums of Sonic conform to their ideals. Their ideals apparently involve mixing Sonic-style chars with humans in a ratio that's in favor of the humans which is shitty already when even Sonic Boom has the ratio of anthros to humans FAR better than Sega of Japan themselves, but the fact most of the most inexcusable human characters come from projects pushed more heavily by Sega of Japan itself is a sign that MAYBE they should let their other departments or those not bound to corporate bullshit in general handle this kind of character-intensive stuff. It also doesn't help it is VERY likely the Japan branch of Sega that imposes a series of nebulous and confusing "mandates" on most other mediums they don't directly control, some of which if true could be borderline draconian and only someone TRULY dumber than them could do any worse. *CoughKenPendersCough.* Sega may overall be trying to rebuild on the game side of things that they control, but I still have my doubts on how they handle Sonic-based stuff in particular for this among other reasons and the fact they've recently only tried to cater to critics and purists rather than real fans. Here's hoping other IPs of theirs they still have aren't rocket science to get right like apparently the Sonic series seems to be.
