Description
Woo, another commission done!So this is Chess, a tech savvy inventor geek kid and a long eared jerboa. I've never drawn a jerboa before so I admit this was a fun and interesting challenge. Those poor little fluffy critters, they're nothing but leg and lets not forget their sausage finger toes; they're basically built for running... and nothing else.
Coloring was very fun when it came to the camo shorts and jacket. I was allowed to get creative with it so I went with the chunky zipper for cool/cute factor. I was also allowed to get creative with the giant wrench he's totting around, added some spray paint faces to the open ends. Don't tell me I was the only one who pretended tools were animals when they were little. My favorite were the pliers, also known as robot B.I.R.D.
The background and the textures became a little troublesome when I first started, but I think everything came together in the end.

Ahaha oh I like this guy. He looks cheeky! You did a really outstanding job with the wrench and the background too. I mean the wrench really looks spraypainted it's got all the drips and everything. Way to pay attention to detail thar

Woo! Thank you. I had lots of fun with the spray paint actually. Playing with filters for the rust/wear effect on the metal was fun too, had to experiment to get it to look the way it does.

The perspective is nice and I love what you did with the textures. And no, you weren't the only one who pretended tools were animals when you were little. I remember building a little village using a toolbox and having the 'eople' as little screws once.
But anyway, very cute picture. Loce his glowing wrench-toy.

Thanks for the nice comment Hotaru! My parents thought I was silly when I would sit for hours just waving a pair of pliers around pretending it was a flying robot parrot. XD
