Description Alright, here it is, the final version of the world map.

Basic information is that it is an alternative world extremely similar to, if not identical to, Earth. In fact, the planet is nearly the same. Evidence points to its wildlife being identical genetically, though morphologically speaking this is not always the case. It's almost as if the planet has been stuck in Paleogene/Eocene-like conditions for the past 66 million years - the boundary of its own "K/T" extinction. What has caused this strange mixture of lowered atmospheric oxygen levels and high surface temperatures is completely unknown. However, what is known is that the world is ruled by avians - a world dominated by birds. Their far superior respiratory system gave them an unparalleled edge over their mammalian competitors, leading to a bird world. Here many groups of avians exist that do not have analogues on Earth, but, they are fairly recognizable. It seems like mammals mostly exist in their Terran groups as well - though obviously not in the same sort of splendor. No, they're mostly dwarf versions of what we know well - horses, tapirs, peccaries, even giraffes.

Brown - Rocky/Mountainous Regions
Dark Green - Rainforest, whether temperate or tropical
Light Green - Grassland, whether temperate or tropical
Tan - Desert, Scrub, or other dry biomes

Blue naturally is ocean and other bodies of water.

Note: None of the continents or regions are named at the moment.

*imagines a mole-like tapir that uses its nose to hoover up sand like a sea cucumber*

Hahaha never know with this world! There's dragons and ponies and thunderbirds.

Awesome. Can't wait to see them!

But still, I doubt there's much nutrition in sand. Mud, maybe.

Maybe mud, but there's birds for that.

Pretty awesome. I would not want to cross that desert on foot.

Well, some of it around the edges is more chapparal/scrub in nature, and very much so around its coasts. However, the majority is unrelenting desert filled with strange little mammals and reptiles.

I see. Interesting. What kind of mammals?

Still, I refuse to set foot in it without a dune buggy and plenty of fuel and water.

Ungulates mostly. The desert holds some of the largest mammals on the planet actually, reaching about the size of cattle.

Cool. Those ones live in the shrubbier parts of the desert, right? Not much food in the central regions.
