Aloysius threw his head uneasily. His rider was radiating with excitement, but every step he took deeper into the forest felt heavier and heavier. He stopped, reluctant to go any further, feeling the silence pressing in around him. The sudden halt snapped his otherworldly rider from his thoughts.

"Whatnow? We are not stopping for while on yet. Tired already?" the man gave a reassuring pat to the stallion's neck.

"No. This is wrong," Aloysius thought, throwing his head again with a snort and stepping back uneasily. Zirven felt the unease that intertwined with the stallion's thoughts and scratched his head, "What's not right?".

"Everything. We are where we must be but there is nobody here. There's nothing here, it's silent," he peered around, chewing his bit. The forest seemed to grow darker the more he tried to look for recognizable shapes through the trees.

"And what is bad? Silent is nice, I hear your thoughts as clear as brook. I quite like, feels like my home. I bet it's just as alive, with lurking and spying!"

"That doesn't even make sense... I strongly think we don't want to find whatever 'lurks and spies' here," Aloysius swung his head around, looking for a path they could take back out to a clearer and lighter place. He wasn't too surprised to find there was none and had no memory of which direction they'd come from.

His rider did not share any of his worries though, as he stood in the saddle, stretching to examine the shapes made by the fog and the darkness, "There may be others ahead. We keep forward, hit something? If we're lucky we won't get eaten," Zirven laughed, urging Aloysius forward.

"I pity the creature to try to eat you," Aloysius snorted at his rider.

"Oh what with pessimism! A dark-cloud spirit finished nothing! If you're curious, my kind has many natural hunters at home."

"Why does keeping you alive sound more and more difficult," Aloysius rolled his eyes, none of that made him feel any easier.

"It ease your spirit or not, if that is your trouble then breathe easy, we are alone."

Aloysius trudged forward, no idea of where they were going. The dark forest looked the same where ever he turned, the one thing that stayed constant is the dark silence. He knew Zirven was trying to give him some comfort, but every sense in his body was telling him that his rider was very wrong.
