Description
This is the ventral perspective view for my recreation/reinterpretation model of the Nebula Class Star Destroyer/Defender of the New Republic in Star Wars Legends. For this ship I decided to put my own spin on it, finding the original's stats to be fairly nonsensical. It retains it's original focus, being a more tactical vessel than a strategic weapon of fear, but has an increased size of 1,400 meters long, 280 meters in height/depth, and 700 meters in width. It's armament has also been overhauled mounting a visual armament of 17 Triple Medium Turbolasers, 18 Quad Heavy Turbolasers, 14 Single Heavy Ion Cannons, 10 Heavy Proton Torpedo Tubes, 32 Concussion Missile Tubes, and 2 Fixed Super Heavy Turbolasers. It also has four hangars in an alcove at the ventral aft of the ship, allowing it to store and launch up to 60 spaceframes of Starfighters including E-Wings, K-Wings, and holdover craft from the days of The Rebellion. I also wanted to make it fully my own version by changing some of the design details to simultaneously give it a slightly more Mon Calamari feel, as well as incorporating certain design elements of previous Star Destroyers, such as Praetor II style engines, and Victory I style Concussion Missile Tubes and wings.
