Description I have to say, despite the unintentional ridiculousness of the Jamie Lynn Spears incident, I was mildly impressed with Nickelodeon's sticking by the kid (and then neatly getting rid of her in a made-for-TV movie.) Honestly, I thought they were going to drop her like a hot rock.

Sharpies, will be scrapped eventually, I just felt like drawing after so many days sending resumes and sorting boxes and doing boring stuff.

If anyone's planning to flame me for this, don't bother. I'm very aware of the fact that I have a huge problem with taste. Often my thoughts are not tasty. Live with it, because I have to.

Dude, I do that kind of thing to my friend a lot.
She was really depressed once and my sister was like "At least you don't have prostate cancer.."
We couldn't stop laughing all day. We still say that to each other and that was over a year ago. It's awesome.

HAHA!! That is so randomly funny. I feel sorry for Jamie, and all pregnant teens out there. At least the father didn't leave her to care for the kid all by herself.

I don't feel sorry for anyone who makes a choice. Choice is a precious thing, but it's what you do with it that counts.

Well, that show wasn't good back when she WASN'T pregnant, I doubt it'll be any good now, but Kathy Griffin's Emmy speech, now THAT was writing!

It amazes me. I thought for sure that she was better than that really. It's sad. And I'm amazed they are actually showing the movie. What a role model for the Nickelodeon kids...sigh. I don't know the whole story though so I won't jump to unnesessary conclusions.

I enjoyed the picture, and Tucker is always there to save the day. It's just amazing. I'm still in disbelief over all of this.

Well, like I've been saying, we can hardly expect the kid to be a good role model when she doesn't have any of her own. At least we won't have to see commercials for that show anymore. Corks, was it ever awful! *chuckles.* And not an original idea in it at all.

Coronadofwb In reply to Firestar9mm [2008-01-19 04:33:41 +0000 UTC]

That's very true. It was something I was least hoping for, anyway...

I never watched the show. I hardly even watch Nick anymore. The media is saying it was popular though, not sure how much of that I believe, but I'm not sore that that show's gone.

When I first read it, I was like "what?!" then I read the author's notes.

Man, I feel sorry for Jamie. Not because of her being pregnant. She made the choice and that's her fault. But she only has her older sister for a role model. You can't blame her too much for her path.

I am glad that hideous show's off the air though. That show was crap! Now the writers can go back to doing good work, like writing Kathy Griffin's hysterical Emmy speeches.

Meh, it was an okay show, but I was getting tired of them teasing the couple thing. I mean, how long can a guy know he loves a girl deeply and there not be major complications and he STILL DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING?!

Firestar9mm In reply to Netbug009 [2008-01-19 01:13:30 +0000 UTC]

*chuckles.* No it wasn't! That idea's been done a squillion times. If you're going to do a school theme, at least try to put a spin on it. That's what That's So Raven gets Firestar Points for Effort.

Yeah, I suppose it wasn't very original. The writing was kinda witty though. But yeah, not up to the hype, like most of Nick's main properties.

The network did handle it well. I just feel sorry for the poor child.

Ugh, I'm beyond bored. I've been doing a lot of boring stuff lately, but it's all necessary. I can't wait for spring to come and put an end to all this nonsense.

I was impressed as well. I thought they'd cancel the show and practically just tell her 'it's over' you know. Im sort of glad they stuck with her, because pregnancies are not easy, and Jamie does need support. I may not like her, her show, or her sister even, but she accepted her mistake and is willing to live the consequences of her really iresponsible acts, and Nick was decent enough to at least give her an ending, and not just a random cut. (and there was gonna be a movie? i didn't know... I saw nickelodeon advertising the tv.movie "Goodbye Zoey"... though...)

It's a shame really. It really looked like she would b e different from her sister. Ah well, we all make mistakes, and hopefully Jamie Lynn wont turn bipolar or anything, and even if she's an underage mother, her kid will lead a normal life. That's my hope, that Jamie's kid doesn't go through what Britney's kids are going through. And I sure hope so the 'father' is gonna help with it too. Whoever he is.

and nice picture, made me chuckle xD Danny's " D:" face is just priceless xD

Yeah, that made-for-tv movie thing, I saw some commercial for it a while back. Like I was saying to HP2, we can hardly expect Jamie Lynn to be a positive role model when she doesn't have any of her own. I thought the whole thing was actually handled much better than the last fifteen years of her sister's life.

No kidding. I sis say that too on a forum once, that Jamie Lynn was in danger because she had the 'erfect teacher' to each her, if you know what i mean.

It's pretty sad.

I'd have to agree with you regarding how they are handling "that" situation. I thought it was rather clever.

Ah, Danny's face is priceless. And I think another thing that could be added would be... "Hey, at least naked pictures of you aren't circulating the internet. Or there's rumor you have a sex tape out. Or that you have "bipolar" tendencies and speak in a British accent, and date one of the paparazzi that follow you around."

"Tuck, that's oddly specific."

Well, those things aren't Nickelodeon-specific.

I think it was scandalous for them to keep her, it shows the trashyness of things that they accept.

But then, I shouldn't be talking cause I hate Nickelodeon. There's nothing to watch on it anymore.

Firestar9mm In reply to PhantomKUZ9 [2008-01-17 06:32:55 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I thought they did the right thing for the poor dumb bunny. *chuckles.* She's got zero positive role models, and at least she seems to be taking it like a champ. Besides, if they hadn't stood behind her, people would be screaming about the rights of women and minors. If she had decided to terminate the pregnancy, anti-abortion groups would be screaming that the network was a bunch of baby-killers. Since no one's going to be pleased with the outcome no matter what happens, I thought it was good that they were trying to at least get her and themselves out with a modicum of dignity.
