Description
The Scot A2HD was a truck produced in Debert, Nova Scotia from 1976 to 1980 by Atlantic Truck Manufacturing, a subsidiary of J. D. Irving Ltd. Most went into service in the fleets of other subsidiaries of Irving: Irving Oil, RST, and Midland to name a few. Its predecessor, the A1HD, was made using a Ford L series cab. The A2HD was made using Scot's own cab from their C1 series tilt-cab with a fiberglass one-piece hood and fender assembly. It was available with a truly integrated sleeper which was practically unheard of at the time. The Scot A2HD holds a small but special place in my heart. It's one of the first mods trucks to grace the Steam Workshop for American Truck Simulator a mere two months after the game released in 2016 by Smarty's Custom Rigs. It rather quickly became one of my favorite trucks to use in the game, being a beautifully hand built (mouse built? curser built?) model, with a fair bit of customization. The icing on the diesel baked cake was the wheel pack that he released with it, which contains Accuride Steel and Alcoa Aluminum wheels in 22.5 and 24.5, along with custom hubs, nuts, and nut covers. And, though it took him a hot minute (several years) to add the Integral Sleeper onto it, it was worth the wait, since it also came with such other additions as a Varashield, and some new paint. Most of his workshop submissions for ATS are, however, trailers and add ons for trucks and trailers, such as Paintable Steel Wheels, something which should have been included in the game, SCS. And currently, the only other truck he has on his workshop is the Peterbilt 280/350 'Iron Nose', he is quickly working through the 281/351, the IH Paystar, the GMC General/Chevy Bison, and, if I pester him enough, the Freightliner FLB (not Harven's, that's a different mod)
Anyway, I've talked enough. Included in this mod is two or three different chassis lengths, I don't know, I built this thing god knows how many moons ago, along with left and right hand exhaust stacks, battery boxes, vent types, and clearance lights with or without an air horn behind it. I hope you all enjoy, now if you'll excuse me I have to go check my totally not related alt universe Scot Product...
