I saw them last thursday, they were effin' AMAZING. I was in the pit, right up against the railing. I was 10 feet away from Adam Jones the entire time. It was life-changing.

This is actually my first attempt at using a grid! It was the only way I could get it to look exactly like the photo. I first tried it without the grid, and it was close, but didn't quite cut it.

Drawing does him justice. Saw them in Early July ... with Big Business(whoo right?) wantedt o see them with Isis or Mastodon but missed the early tours ... but Tool still floored me enough to be content with concert life and never need to go to another one again(unless my band plays somewhere)

why thank you. i've seen tool probably a million times since about 2001. they're pretty awesome. i got to see isis put on a show in between opening for tool. they were much better as the headliner than when they were as the opening band.
i do have to say though that there's only one concert that was better than any tool show...and that was muse. they have this energy that is just unrivaled. but that won't stop me from seeing tool again! only a month and a half away till that happens!!!!!! i'm so excited!

Awesome, I do agree Muse has energy live, never saw them, but I do love them. They're a very good band and I hope you enjoy the concert. The only concert I'd see after Tool is Nine Inch Nails(maybe), Deftones(not really, only if cheap or local or something0 and Dir en Grey. Until then, I'll be happy seeing Tran Siberian Orchestra with my parents lol.

Actually me too. I know very few in person, but I haven't seen enough on here. I've seen more fans of bands like My Chemical Romance and crap like that. I guess because Tool is commercialized on MTV, people don't like them. It's sad, but true.

Great drawing. The human body is so hard to master on paper, but you nailed it. And somehow, you captured it in Maynard's body of all of them. Haha.
And about the tour, I don't know if you heard, but all the dates have been postponed due to Danny tearing his bicep. He went through surgery and is supposedly doing a lot better. The new dates are slowly starting to trickle in now.

my first attempt at drawing him didn't go so well (and which is why it isn't in my gallery!) this is probably the 4th or 5th picture of him I've drawn since high school.
I was fortunate enough to see tool twice in 2006. i can't wait till they come around again this year, cuz i am so there...again!

last year i saw them in houston, and in dallas. maynard was ill during the houston show, which was disappointing. but at least danny, adam, and justin were still amazing. and in dallas, maynard was still a little bit sick, but he sounded a whole lot better than he did in houston. where did you see them?

WOW! That is an incredible drawing. I really love how you captured the calm, more fun style of maynard than that of his old angst ways. Everything looks good from the hair, to face, to the tats, to the pose. Magnificent. You sure are talented, and I hate to sound greedy but if you do draw more of maynard please let me know because it'd definitely be worth looking at.

thanks! yeah, he's fun to draw. this is my 3rd drawing of him. the 2nd one is in my gallery somewhere. i did this one, because i felt like there needed to be a drawing of a more recent maynard. all the other ones i've seen are how he looked several years ago.
