Description
When he first woke up he didn't realizeHe had snow white hair and glowing green eyes.
Could walk through walls, disappear, and fly.
He was much more unique than the other guy...
I think we all know the rest. Well, at least I do

This is one of my favorite shots so far from my shoot with *Skwinky (who am I kidding, they all look great, this was so much fun!) My thighs are still hurting from posing all day, but I do not regret it for an instance :3
I love DP so much-- I love the lame jokes, the sarcastic characters, the silly villains-- everything! I had thought of cosplaying Danny Phantom a while back, but since I had room for another costume for NYAF/NYCC, I thought it was the perfect time! I had so much fun, and ran into so many people who were excited to see my costume-- I was seriously high off of pure happiness all day

Your wig looks amazing. You did a great job translating his cartoon hair into real hair.

Thank you! The wig was a little tricky, but I do like how it turned out. It's not the easiest thing translating cartoon hair!

Right on. My girl loved Danny Phantom when she was younger, so she also really enjoyed this.

This is awesome! I love the clean lines in the costume, the way the seams are all so polished looking; the outfit fits you like a glove, without any unnecessary folding or whatnot from bad sewing technique! It really shoes you have talent with spandex, which to me is an incredible feat > u >~
My friend is also trying to do ghost Danny and wants me to make her costume, but when it comes to some parts I'm kind of lost on it; may I ask you how you did your D on his shirt? The fabric looks like it could be death itself if not done correctly, and a few insightful hints would be amazing ; u ;
That is, unless you don't want to tell me, which I can understand perfectly
firewolf826 In reply to allyssinian [2011-01-17 00:00:30 +0000 UTC]
Thanks so much! I do my best to keep my sewing as clean as possible C:
The fabric I used is called ponte. It's a little different from spandex, because it's 2-3 times thicker and is only 2-way stretch, not 4-way. I decided to use that because it's a heavier weight, and therefore makes me feel a little less self-conscious, lol. Spandex is perfectly fine to use too, of course, though not the funnest thing to sew.
I hidden stitched the D on by hand, because I didn't want any machine stitching to show. THere's also a thin piece of craft foam inside. So, basically, I first cut out the D out of craft foam, then Heat-n-Bond'd it to the white fabric. Then cut it out of the fabric leaving a bit for the hem. When I sewed it on, I folded under the extra fabric, and used the "invisible" stitch so that it's completely seamless. Hopefully that made sense! This, of course, isn't the only option to put on the D, but it's what I decided to do.
Hope that was helpful! And good luck on your friend's costume! ^_^
