-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So here's the deal dudes. There's still a bit of a walk to Monochrome Tower," Chill replied as he patted the Light Stone next to him. "I have a feeling that our blue dude 'friend', Estoc the Cobalion, will be paying us a visit. We have to deal with him first if we are to obtain peace!"
Team Valhalla and Chill discussed ways to handle Estoc before they entered the forest. It quickly dawned on them that Aya was the only one who possessed any effective type moves against the steel/fighting type pokemon. Thus, they needed to depend on the Cyndaquil for the most effective attacks. At times like this, Aya sometimes wished she learned a harder hitting fire type move...
With hushed talks, each Rescuer agreed upon a role and the team began their journey to the tower.
It wasn't long until the awaited 'blue dude' Estoc arrived. As Chill reached the edge of the forest with the Light Stone in his paws, the guild leader spotted a blue streak rush through the darkness of the green forest. Calmly motioning a paw, he cautioned Team Valhalla of the danger that approached.
The trio proceeded as if nothing was wrong, but they all kept alert. If they were to take down powerful pokemon, they had to work together to get through this.
"I see you have not heed my warnings young ones," a deep voice rumbled from the shadows.
From the lush green-blue darkness erupted a gleaming blue pokemon with proud eyes.
"You will not be permitted to pass!"
The moment the Cobalion emerged, Aya quickly released a large Smokescreen to delay their opponent. However, the proud guardian was not distracted by such a ploy and released a Sacred Heart. The trio quickly dodged and fell into their respective roles.
Chill would offer support using Charm to lower Estoc's attack power and Blizzard to limit his mobility. If the worst came, the guild leader would attempt to tank one of the guardian's moves with Endure.
Raggs took on the role of supportive attacker. Unleashing a Thunder Wave in an attempt to further hinder Estoc's mobility, the Dragonair would act as a distraction trying to get the Cobalion to focus most of his attack on the dragon.
Aya used her Smokescreen to partially cover the battlefield to hide her presence. As the guardian looked away to focus on Raggs, she dug under the earth with Dig and emerged behind the Cobalion whenever she had the chance releasing dual ground and fire attacks.
But even with their combined efforts, Estoc clearly had years of experience and power on his side. He was wearing down the trio faster than they expected. In near exhaustion, Raggs' pupils began to dilate as mindless instinct began to take over in desperation.
With an unexpected roar, Raggs unleashed an Outrage attack and began to furiously pound on the Cobalion with powerful blows. Even though the move type was half as effective, Estoc was taken aback by the sheer rage that emitted from the formerly calm Dragonair. Seeing a chance, Chill leapt forth and delivered a hard Tail Slap at Estoc's eyes. Aya ran forth and used a close range Ember at the steel/fighting pokemon's chest.
With a roar, the guardian's hind legs caved from the sudden blows and he collapsed, unable to rise. The Cobalion's eyes stared at the enraged Dragonair who prepared to deliver the final strike.
"Hmph, so this is how I fall? In the fury of a mindless... beast," Estoc thought to himself with a hint of rage. "I will fulfill my task!"
But before the Cobalion could attempt to rise, his golden eyes watched from beneath the brim of his hat as the small Cyndaquil raced to her partner and somehow found a way to latch herself onto the dragon's face.
"RAGGS! ENOUGH!" Aya cried out and mustered all that remained of her strength to use Attract.
It was fortunate for Raggs that he faced such a powerful opponent. Had it been any other stage one pokemon, his Outrage would likely continue on for much longer. The Dragonair could feel himself falter to the aftereffects of the powerful attack and now afflicted with confusion and attraction, all he could mentally do at the moment was vaguely stare at Aya.
The guardian watched as the Rescuers aided their afflicted companion. He had heard of pokemon who fell into berserker states and even fought a few in his past. But rarely had he come upon a sight where one who had 'fallen' was saved and returned to the world of light.
"What do you hope to gain by awakening my Goddess?" Estoc asked with a firm voice.
"You heard us once before! We seek peace! And if through this stone we can show everyone the truth to finding it, then wouldn't the world be a better place-?" Chill replied back but was cut off by a scoff from the hat bearing pokemon.
"A child's way of thinking. You think that using another's power you can obtain what you yourself can not achieve. How many years has it been and still young pokemon are so naive. Do you desire for the cycle of history to repeat? Do you believe that simply awakening my Goddess will solve all your problems?"
"... No. Most likely not," Aya replied as she rubbed Raggs' head in a gentle manner.
Estoc's head turned a bit abruptly to hear the Cyndaquil's response.
"Even now, we still fight because we can't full understand each other. We all have varying ideals. We turn our heads to those with greater power, expecting deep wisdom. But perhaps we're the foolish one's in that respect..." Aya turned to look at the Cobalion before proceeding, "Even so, we wish to hear the truth from your Goddess. We will accept the consequences our actions might have. We will take a step and move forward, like we always have."
The guardian stared and scoffed again, "Then should you bring disaster upon this world once more, I will arrive without hesitation... to end your lives."
Golden eyes watched the young pokemon as they quietly departed from the forest to the tower with Light Stone in tow. The guardian was unsure of the outcome that these pokemon would bring. He hoped that his companions had better luck in... 'convincing' the other stone bearers to turn back. But... perhaps it was all right for him to possess a small fragment of hope in the future of pokemon.

Artist notes: Some blur issues with this picture but alas I don't have the time to retake it. I'll strive to do better next time!
This writing... also took unexpectedly longer then anticipated. XD
WHY IS THIS WRITING SO LONG? OTL
