Appearance || Ivorypaw has a lean, strong bodice - built for running long distances without tiring rather than for speed or power. It's coated in thick white fur, dappled with tabbied patches of ginger and brown. Her fur ruffles more in certain places than others: her legs have slighter thinner fur, but around her chest, tummy, tail and ears it flairs outwards. The tufts in her ears actually give her a slight difficulty hearing. She has a small pink nose, and bright blue eyes that grow very pale around the rims. Her paw pads are the same pink of her nose.

Her mother had been named feather after the feathery tufts in her ears, and Ivory inherited them when she was born. She dislikes whispering, and feels personally that if somebody is going to go through the trouble of saying something, they should say it loud, proud, and that they should mean it.

Ivorykit started off like any other kit: she was fascinated by the world around her from the second she could open her eyes. Her personality became evident in the first few weeks of her life, already quick to complain whether it be about food or the temperature of her mother's warm belly. She mewled and complained and caused all kinds of ruckus, and her father, Paleclaw, went to all kinds of means to try and get her to be a bit more quiet; other kits were trying to sleep, after all. But Ivorykit still had too many questions, growing stronger and older and hungrily seeking out any information she could about life in TidalClan. The concepts of warriors dazzled her, and she knew then and there she would always strive to be the best of the best. Runningfire would lay and whisper stories to her only child throughout the night, spinning out wild tales of Leaders and StarClan and the salty sea that she would get to swim in once she was old enough. Ivorykit would listen to them all, growing more and more eager as the moons passed to become an apprentice and get her mentor.
But she had always seemed to have an especially close relationship with her father. Paleclaw would take his daughter out on walks around camp, and play and talk with her long after others got bored of her nagging and nipping. His patience seemed endless, even after having given up on taming her loud voice. She loved him wholeheartedly, and will still nag at him for walks or extra training to this day.
Her kithood passed by without much excitement; everything she did was in preparation with the day that had finally come. She was to be an apprentice! The Clan had gathered, and when at last her named was called out in a glorious chant, the small she-cat brandished her title as Ivorypaw her her head held high and proud. At long last, she would be able to prove herself in ways no kit ever could, and as she gazed through the crowd of felines, she smiled brightly. These cats were her family - she'd show them all. It was then that her eyes fell upon one. One she wouldn't usually notice. One who was frowning.

Saying her tank yous, she managed to escape from her crooning parents and the cheering crowds, leaving them to fawn over the other apprentices who had also received their names this ceremony. The chants of all the different names seemed to faded form her mind, as the small she-cat boldly approached the much taller tom. He glared down at her, and suddenly, his jowls parted in a smile. "You have quite a path set out for you little one," he remarked with a sly edge to his tone. Ivorypaw huffed; didn't they all? Being the best warrior ever wasn't going to be a walk in the park! "When the shadows call, just make sure you keep your head, alright?" he ruffled the fur atop her fuzzy little brow, and Ivorypaw blinked her bright sapphire gaze in confusion. What was this old coot going on about? All; she had wanted to know was why he had been staring so intently at her. Wandering off, she quickly pushed the tom from her mind.
But the shadows did call.
She'll never forget the day she found out she was the Messenger for the Dark Forest.
She continued to be tormented by nightmares, but she whispers of them to not a soul. She needs to be strong if she's still going to be the best warrior, after all! But over time, her faith in StarClan has become tainted by her fear of ending up in the Dark Forest for all eternity. The place makes her nervous, she craves the light, but at the same time she respects it, and feels a deep sense of responsibility now that she has such a large, important job. To this day, her training continues, but who can really tell what will happen next?

A cold breeze chilled her to the bone, despite the long fur that covered her lean frame. Ivorypaw shivered, trying to bury herself deeper into her nest. Normally it would be comfortably warm in the Apprentice’s den, but with everyone already out on their morning duties, the pale she-cat couldn’t seem to relax. This defeats the purpose of sleeping…I can’t get a heartbeat of rest! Giving up ruefully, the feline sat upright with a long yawn, still reluctant to step outside into the snow. But the prospect of sitting here and doing nothing was even more mortifying to rowdy apprentice, and with that thought she found the willpower to leave the mediocre warmth her nest had provided her with. The wind was even worse outside of the den, but she wasn’t going to let anyone else know that! She held her head high, blaming the teeth-chattering chill on the fact that TidalClan rested right on the shoreline. The arctic winds blew over the open sea, and this morning didn’t seem to contain its usual uplifted feel. That might’ve had something to do with how the camp was partially deserted. Ivorypaw frowned pointedly, her furry ear flicking in irritance; everyone was already out doing stuff, and nobody had woken her! Well, the fact that she was always kicking and waking up in the middle of the night might’ve had something to do with it… she needed as much rest as she could get. She doubted the other apprentices were too fond of being near her though because of it, and she quickly pushed the thought of nightmares from her mind. The greatest warrior of all the clans can’t dwell over stuff that happens when they’re sleeping! Trotting out of camp, she decided she’d try to get some hunting done so she wouldn’t be upstaged by any of the other apprentices. Wherever her mentor was, she didn’t really pay much mind. Surely they’d be proud when she came back with lots of prey, and without even getting breakfast for herself! Yes, surely she was a noble apprentice, and soon to be an amazing warrior.
