I know this all too well:
Captain - Warrant officer 2nd class (drum major)
* Band is on detail.
Warrant officer 2nd class ( drum major) - Flight Sergeant (2 IC [me])
* I need to prep for Warrant officers meeting and pick up some sheet music I had photocopied. Make sure that detail gets done.
Flight Sergeant (2 IC [me]) - Sergeant (lead trumpet in band)
* I need to talk to Flight Sergeant (anonymous) about the new parade format and the flag parties new rifle drill que prior to the general salute so that we can have a better entrance into the piece. Make sure detail gets done.
Sergeant (lead trumpet) - Duty Flight Corporal
* I have to pick up some valve oil and I have a meeting in a bit. Make sure that detail gets done.
Duty Fight Corporal - the rest of the band
* Ok listen up, I'm going to be giving out taskings ...
Corporal - A.C.
* I'm going to put away the chairs and tables in the class rooms, so you can take the garbage out.
and thats how the bottom of the command chain gets stuck with the crap jobs. But we were all down there once so we can just shrug it off and say that its someone else's turn. I think that his face sums it up pretty well though.
