I appreciate each favorite I receive, but it's always kind of confused me when I find that someone has added my entire gallery to their favorites, without even adding me to their watch list!Feel free to use this stamp if you're just as confused as I am

You can copy the thumb code and paste it at your deviantID or journal entry even if you don't have premium membership. It works, but I don't know about pasteing it on other places.

with me, Im just snooping around the gallery and favouriting stuff I really like, but its not enough of an interest to actually follow the person.

I have the "deviant love" extension, so I can check who I've faved the most, and which of them I'm watching! I completely agree! I receive maybe 1 fav a day on average, but one watch every... I can't even remember the last watcher I got! I appreciate it a lot more than just 10 favs!

Hahaha I feel kinda bad for doing that XD
but how it usually happens is I just go poking around here and there, adding favorites as I go, and some day in the distant future, I look through my favorites, and suddenly realize that I have one person's name popping up over and over again in my favorites. Then I check out their page and find more art that I like. and then I favorite them, and then I watch them. From then on, I'll only favorite works I like in particular. (and comment on the ones I feel more strongly about)
Lately, though, I just find a particular artwork that I like, and from there, I just check out their gallery while I'm at it. C: Sometimes, I find that a lot of their work is in my favorites already. And from there, I usually add them to my watch.

What if i fave almost all the entire gallery and watch you. That's what I do. I don't forget to watch after i finish taking a huge chunk of someone's gallery into my favorites ^_^

Mostly that just angers me, because they're all faved within SECONDS of each other, so it's like... did you even look at them? I find it more insulting to fave that many, especially if you're not even going to take the time to look at it for more than a split second. And if you're just saving them for later... why not just browse my gallery? x_x

Well, sometimes, when I have 10000 devwatch messages, there's little time to open and comment on everything. Although that is usually art of the people I watch. If i had to open everything, the improvements made on DA when it comes to faving would have no meaning.

ugh x_____x yes, this. To me it just negates the term 'favorite' if you're adding so much so quickly. Favorite means what you like the best.

Haha! I had never really had this happen to me, and I just read this the other day, and then today it happened! This person went through and favorited pages and pages of my art, but didn't even watch me. Makes no sense! haha

This is a concept that baffles me as well. If you clearly like someone's work that much, it is almost more like a discredit or disservice to not watch them IMO. Sure the numbers don't mean much about the quality of the artist but their are some numbers we would prefer to see increase (

it's sooooooo much my kind to do this!!
but if I faved most of the artwork in someone's gallery but didn't watch, that generally means I saw a few things I really didn't like! and I'm like "eww I don't want to see that kind of thing in my messages!"
or simply that I'm like "you draw well, but most of what you draw doesn't interest me (ex: if half of your gallery contains naruto fanarts) therefore I'll get bored quickly and will unwatch you after a few weeks anyway :/ "
personnaly what bothers me is when someone leave a comment like "wow, this is sooo amazing! you are very talented, blah blah blah" but don't fav it. i'm like " but it wasn't amazing enough to click one more button? ಠ_ಠ "

But either way, I think people should do whatever they like, personally I'm happy so long as they like my stuff. But not watching may seem a bit strange, yeah. But then I like to believe they their "reasons" not to do so.. or whatever

It's one thing to fav 10..20 things in a gallery..heck I've done it, some artists are just awesome -all the time- xD. I've had people come through my gallery though and literally ad hundreds of thigns to their favs..not say a word to me (no comments on -any- of them), not watch me, and never come back xD. If my work was all that great..great enough to add SO many to their favs..why not watch me? Why not come back? Why not say something to me? It just confuses me xD

I went crazy when I see a lot of amazing pictures. I can't stop cliking "Add to favourites." When I'm doing that, I'm not thinking at all. I just forget everything. xD I understand, it can confuse... I should think a little more. ^^
