I used to do this, when I was younger. I may fave a lot now, but I don't typically go through an entire gallery faving everything. I haven't even found anyone that I actually like every single thing they've ever done in ages. usually it's just "oh hey this person's done several nice TF2 fanarts, let's fave them all because I love them so much" and that'll be as far as it goes. and I wouldn't devwatch since... well, in all honesty, I'm prolly not gonna care for the major majority of whatever they do. me liking less than 10 fanarts out of all of someone's work isn't gonna make me wanna watch them. lol

as for why I used to do it? heck if I know. I was much younger and really dumb. anything pretty or awesome and relevant to my interests would just go in my faves. I've changed a lot, so it's not something I do now. lol

I'm guilty of this, but here's my reason. I look UP certain things, and I fave what I like. Sometimes I don't realize some deviations are by the same person (let's face it, even though there are differences, just glancing and not really paying attention to too much details, some look the same). If I DO realize they're the same person, and they draw stuff I like a lot, I do watch them. If they don't draw it often, then I won't, because I might not really care about what else they draw.

That's why I do it.

I don't really mind it too much, but it is a bit discouraging to log in and see that all my messages being a fav bomb lol. I prefer comments most of the time, but appreciate just favs too.

Especially on something I genuinely worked hard on too. I'd get favs, which are always nice. But I'd LOVE comments, just to see what people think of it other than liking it in general enough to fav. :/ Some of my sketches have gotten more favs than anything else too, which is annoying xD

Yes, haha x__x . It's pretty easy to go through and click a button multiple times (faving multiple things), but it takes time, thought, and effort to communicate with someone on WHY you hit that fav button, so I always appreciate the comment more than the fav when I get both :3. Not that I don't appreciate favs, I'd just rather talk to someone

Erm... didn't know that was so annoying. I guess I won't do that anymore... I try to be somewhat conservative with my favs (which leaves me feeling like I skipped over something I should have fav'd sometimes)...

I never watch because I don't get on this site often and I just don't... uhm, idk. It's like, I like _those_ pictures so I'm going to fav them. If I ever stumble upon the artist again or think about them I'll check out their galleries, but I'm not really interesting in watching every.single.picture they put up. Those'll just rot in my inbox until I delete them. Plus, I'm usually only on deviantart long enough to browse the first few pages of recent popular section, and then I'm off-- I don't _want_ to bother with my inbox.

However, if the artists really find it that annoying, I can set up a bookmark folder for deviantart on my computer then. I know I'd /love/ to to be talented enough to get fav-bombs.

I don't find it annoying so much as completely disappointing. I would rather someone interact with me somehow than fav bomb HUNDREDS of images in my gallery and then zip off and forget about me .

Personally I don't understand the point of that, but to each their own . If/when I like someones gallery enough to want to fav SO MUCH (hundreds of images)..I'm just going to watch the artist . To me a fav isn't so special..it doesn't say so much about the piece being favd if the person doing the faving also favorited literally 3-4 hundred other images in your gallery as well.

I tend to do both, if someone's work is worth faving so much, I want to fave both what they have done and what they'll be doing later on.

I'd expect, people who do that have probably spent so long faving that they've forgotten to watch at the end.

I usually every deviation that I like, so if I find a new interesting artist from dA I look his/her gallery through and every deviation I like and then I add that person to and of course if that person does more great art I will those deviations. But I don't understand why some people only nearly everything and does not start ing...
