Chapter 2

Ianto woke up early.

He lived on the suburbs of Cardiff with his sister and his father. His sister was like his mum since his mother died because of cancer, and now his dad was ill because of the same disease, and that's the only thing that scared Ianto more than anything. He was so young when his mother died, and despite their differences, he loves his father, and he's scared to see him die.

They lived about 20 minutes from the high school, and so Ianto had to wake up early in the morning. He had to get dressed and eat breakfast before he left for school. His sister stayed at home until the afternoon, then when he arrives home his sister would have to go to work.He spends the afternoon doing his homework, or just doing stuff on his computer... and taking care of his father.

He walked out of the house with a cookie in his mouth, checking that he has everything in his bag. Ianto walked down the empty streets,it was only 8 in the morning, some people would wake up that early to go to work or school.. Ianto smiled to his neighbours and continued with his walk.

Last night he had been about the man that he met the day before... That Captain, he was funny and a little mysterious, its not everyday you could meet someone like him.

Meeting his friends on the high school doors he walked inside, all the students there were wearing the same clothes: Blue pants for the boys, and blue skirts for the girls, with a white shirt that had achievement of the school, and finally a beige jacket. They had to wear it all year, Ianto didn't mind really he always liked the school uniforms, and they were very pretty.

And... Not knowing why, that man appeared again on his mind.

He was in his classes, bored, as always, he was not the best of the students he just tried his best, but not all time. The maths class always bored him, it was hot, the summer was so close to them, soon all the students were going to have three months of summer holidays, but not Ianto, he ends the High School this year and so he has to study to access to the college.

His sister was really insistent with that matter, and Ianto was bothered. He knew that he has to pass that exam, but he hated when his sister just pressured him to study, study and study all time... He felt like he was going to spend his whole life studying.

And it just makes him feel sick.

With a small sigh he looked down at his notebook, he was drawing nonsense on it while he was distracted, thinking in his own. Closing the notebook, he looked trough the window, and noticed someone on the gate of the high school. He didn't recognize him at first, but the coat... Was distinct.

He blinked a few times, not believing what was he watching... What a coincidence uh?...

Quickly he looked at his watch and bit his lower lip looking around, feeling nervous, and desperate to walk out to ask him what the hell was he doing here. Was he following him or what? Ianto never believed in coincidences.

"What are you doing here?" Asked Ianto while he was in front of Jack, the were separated by the school gates. Jack smiled and leaned resting his hand on the gate, Ianto looked at him frowning "How did you know where I was?"

"Who said that I'm here for you?" Asked Jack looking at him with a half and seductive smile on his lips.

"Oh well... I... Suppose..." Mumbled Ianto not looking at him, his cheeks tinted in a soft pink. Jack smiled, that boy was going to kill him doing things like this. "So what are you doing here then?".

"Looking for you" Jack laughed a little and Ianto rolled his eyes crossing his arms above his chest "Your bothered? I thought you were going to be happy to see me again".

"And why do you suppose that?" He asked arching his eyebrows and looked at him suspiciously. But he was not bothered, indeed he was so happy to see him again, he didn't know why, but he couldn't stop thinking about him.

"You think you can skip your classes?" Asked Jack with a big grin on his face. Sometimes Jack was a bit cheeky (Well all the time), he looked at Ianto over his sun glasses, still smiling mischievously waiting for his answer. "So...?".

Ianto was hesitating, he didn't know whether to accept or not, because he knew that if his sister found out that he just skip his classes she was going to be annoyed. However, he was tired of always doing what was right, he wanted to do something fun ... Finally he looked at Jack and smiled, nodding.

"Okay" He said finally and looked around, being sure that nobody was looking at him "Take this" He said and gave Jack his bag throwing it above the gate, Jack took it putting it on his shoulder smiling at Ianto, he knew that the boy was going to accept.

Ianto was not very nimble, but it was not the first time he was going to jump over that fence. So carefully he jumped on the gate, and passed over it, looking around, with a jump he fell to the ground and immediately got up, shaking and cleaning his clothes of the dust of the ground.

"You okay?" Asked Jack looking at him "Is that the first time you jumped over that fence... Right?".

"Of course it is!" Said Ianto looking at him and laughed "Then If you came over here is because you have something in mind... Did you?".

"Well... A few things" He smiled mysteriously "I just want a welsh boy to show me Cardiff" They started walking down the street "Am I asking for too much?".

"Not really, but If my sister knew that I'm skipping my classes I'm going to say that you kidnapped me" He said seriously and few seconds later he burst out laughing and Jack laughed with him.

"Tell her, I would probably kidnap you anyway" He teased and Ianto grinned looking at him trough his glasses.

Ianto laughed and punched him softly before starting to run down the street. "Then you should catch me first!" He yelled looking at Jack and running again. In is seventeen/eighteen Ianto was such a child, he loved to have fun, he liked to laugh and run all time.

Jack grinned looking at him and he just started running after Ianto, his coat moving with the breeze, and the empty and silent streets now filled with their laughs, finally Jack caught him, taking him by his arm, Ianto laughed and panted stopping to look at him.

"I win" Said Jack still having Ianto by his arm "That means that I have to kidnap you and that I want my reward".

"We haven't talked about any reward" Said Ianto breathless laughing a little "But If you want..." He shrugged "What reward? What you want?".

"Hmmm... I will tell you later, first let me think about what I can ask..." Ianto frowned looking at Jack, confused, but he just shrugged again and nodded.

They walked down the main street, Ianto looked at some stores. He stopped at the music store, looking at some Cd, and finally they reached the coffee shop, and Ianto bought himself a hot coffee and a muffin, he was starving, and it was lunch time.

"Are you sure you don't want anything to eat?" He asked looking at Jack.

"I'm fine" Jack smiled softly.

"So... Tell me where do you work?" He asked curiously looking at jack, eating his muffin slowly an taking small sips of his coffee.

Jack drew a smile on his face.

"You believe in aliens?" Asked Jack looking at Ianto.

"Well... A little" Said Ianto looking at him "Why? Are you an Alien?".

Jack burst out laughing at his question, Ianto smiled softly, he liked his laugh, Jack was amused, that was a very funny and good question, well he was not an alien at all, just a time traveller.

"You think that I look like an alien?" Asked Jack.

"Just a bit..." Replied Ianto taking a sip of his coffee, Jack laughed again.

"I'm not an alien, but... I have a super-secret work..." Jack winked at Ianto, and Ianto grinned shaking his head.

"You work for UNIT?" He asked "Or maybe for NASA?" He asked interested "Super secret work... Yeah right..." He didn't believe Jack, of course.

They finally reached the bay, and Ianto smiled softly feeling the breeze on his face, he closed his eyes smiling softly, looking at the sea, and hearing the sound of the waves. Jack was looking at him, curiously, smiling softly running his gaze over Ianto's face.

Ianto opened his eyes and smiled to Jack.

"What?" He asked.

"I was thinking about my reward..." Jack smiled softly.

"And...?"

Again Jack draw a soft smile on his lips, and he moved his hand, placing it on Ianto's cheek, with his thumb he stroked softly his lower lip, looking into his eyes, it was probably to soon to do it, but he just had one week, seven days, and then he will never come back to this year... He will never see Ianto again. He can't deny that Ianto captivated him at first look... Those eyes, that lovely expression and his innocence...

Ianto blushed slightly and looked at him, he swallowed and opened his mouth a little when Jack's thumb passed trough his lips in a soft stroke. He can't said nothing, his mind was blank and he felt the heart beat fast and rumble on his head.Jack leaned, slowly and Ianto looked at him, thinking that Jack was going to kiss him, he closed his eyes, and Jack stopped, kissing his cheek, not his lips, and Ianto swallowed again.

Jack smiled softly and again he left a stroke on his lower lip.

Ianto smiled, and the two looked over the calm sea.
