I actually have steered away from using other materials to blend. I usually build up from light layers of pencil to darker ones, and just adjust pencil pressure to build up the shading. If anything, sometimes I use my pinky to blend, but I find that blending with my fingers/tissues/tortillians gives me an effect that I just don't like. I'd rather put in that extra effort with the pencil

Yes, I agree on pencil drawings and blending either. Your control of the pressure is incredibly smooth. I think just about all it could use is some more darker areas, for contrast (as black as his neck portion!).
