I really liked Eliv Thade from last year (and apparently someone else did, too...he was nominated for a NT Award!), so I wanted to use him again. Tried to put a spin on the joke, though, so it wouldn't be exactly the same.
I kinda imagine Eliv as this kindly old man who obviously can't speak and is always taken advantage of by others. This is a completely whackadoodle interpretation of his character, but whatever. And who better to manipulate a kindly old man than Mad! Mad is dressing up as Doctor Horrible, because Doctor Horrible is a MAD SCIENTIST HUR HUR SNORT
also Doctor Horrible is amazing.
