EDIT: Guys, I really don't get what is with saying the old one is better. No one wants to be told that, and I'm really getting sick of hearing it, please stop.The old version became my most favourited deviation out of both of my accounts, and that bothers me because I really don't like it, so I redrew it.
I actually don't like this one either but I haven't updated in a while so yeah.

i'm looking at all three renditions and aauuauauuauaua so much improvement!! you are definitely making progress. i can see how someone would prefer the older one (it emulates the popular anime style more) but even though they are both very good, the newer one really depicts a better understanding of--well, ~Trexxa kinda covered that for me haha
but keep striving to improve, i can only imagine next year's Karkat headshot hehe

Thicker, more definite lines, darker shades and lighter highlights, better overall anatomy, and showing depth a lot better. I don't see, at all, how anyone can say that the other one is better. At all. You've improved so much!

I think this one shows his age a bit better. Where others might see his personality conveyed better in the old overs ion or something, I think this is truer to his character and on top of it, FRICKING ADORABLE :3
I don't find myself liking much fanart of kk, but this one is just too fantastic to pass by without favoriting.

and i totally understand what you mean by people liking old versions better. it really hurts, ugh. i've had that happen to me quite a few times on improvement memes.

It's really mainly people preferring the older's art style while completely ignoring the artistic improvement.
In this case I could assume people would prefer the old one because he looks older in age and that's "hot". In the new version I tried being more loyal to how he is originally with having him looking 13 years old (or 6 sweeps old), which is an improvement on it's own way, but people tend to just care about which one looks hotter.

I really enjoy this piece uvu especially compared to the older one, the colors feel more complete as a whole, and it seems warmer. The face was painted really nicely, and I like how fleshed out he seems ovo/ the highlights and shadows are so nice alsdf

Haha, I remember that was the piece that got me to watch you. XD I like the new one, but there's just something I like a tad better about the other one. I think it's maybe because there's something more expressive about the other.
